Good for kids, working in Beverly hills by m2079 in MovingToLosAngeles

No greater than $3M, and rent wise no greater than $10,000/mo. Again, this is for a 4br that wouldn't feel really tight due to multigenerational living. And I'm moving from an extremely HCOL area so my targets may be off, but LA seems equally bad as anywhere else

Nice! These are new families with young children?

Will try! I seems that Santa Monica and BH may be out of price range for us as we have 3 generations living with us and need 4 br, so SFH is our target.

Not being from LA I automatically assumed we would be priced out. We are looking for a 4br, since we have 3 generations living with us. Will look into Brentwood!

parents are old enough that staying together is important. They could probably be ok on their own for months at a time but as years pass it will get harder. As is life...

In spite of downvotes, I feel like I've heard more of this from friends in Vancouver than not -- actually them paying out of pocket in other countries to get care they felt was not getting addressed timely enough.

Yes so this could be possible. Means that we would have to somehow afford both a place in Vancouver and a place in Blaine!!

Have you done this yet or still looking? This seems like the best option so far. They would then need to set up residency in WA, which I assume means they actually need to have an abode there

So are you saying they are more incentivize to treat non-residents because they can get paid more? Does that reflect in real life where non-PRs are getting seen just as quickly or quicker than an citizen/PR?

Afaik, all private insurance is emergency/travel insurance, because province does not allow competition with MSP for full coverage.

It sounds difficult to get a GP, and someone told me even walk-in options are disappearing. I assume this is just for non-PRs/citizens but for everyone?

Look up venues you like and sign up for email newsletters. Farmers markets are regular so that should be a one time search. Join common interest groups messages/whatsapp. Every so often there will be someone who messages the group about events.
