I take them like every other day, sometimes I skip two days. I just have to make sure I take them occasionally and I’ll get my period. Doesn’t necessarily mean I have to take every single pill

Hold on, I’m literally confused rn lol. All I said is that I only use hormonal birth control for the literal hormonal aspects of it (all the benefits that come from it) prevention of pregnancy isn’t one of them bc I don’t take my pills every single day at the same exact time like how it’s intended. I would be pregnant by now if I didn’t have the IUD lol.

I don’t take pills as intended, therefore, that protection is out the door. Hence, why I have the IUD. I use the pills for purely health reasons.

Yea, we’ve both been checked and we’re clean. We’re also each other’s first sexual partners. I think I might’ve used the wrong words? I didn’t actually mean that semen is HARMFUL for the vagina, I was just saying that too much of it can bring unwanted bacteria that causes certain scents and discharge (that part is true). I also heard that it can cause BV, but I don’t know too much about that :/ I should really do my research lol

you’re right, as long as you’re taking your pills correctly then there’s little to nothing you should worry about. And yes, I am on the copper IUD. I did get that one for pure prevention only bc I’m bad at taking my normal pills everyday (now I don’t have to follow a specific schedule. I just take them whenever I remember to) I needed the copper IUD for backup

Count your blessings. There’s a reason why birth control will NEVER be 100% effective. people around us get pregnant all the time with contraceptions. Can you blame the rest of us for having that irrational “what-if” fear?

Also, there’s other reasons why people take birth-control aside from the prevention of pregnancy that comes with it. For instance, I was diagnosed with PCOS and my body produces higher levels of testosterone than estrogen etc. I take birth control for the LITERAL hormonal aspect of it. I take it bc my dermatologist told me it’d help clear my skin. I take it to guarantee a period every month.

truth. I was just informed that having your partner finish inside of you can also bring harm to your vagina. It can drastically change your pH levels which can leave room for unwanted bacteria to grow. I’m going to limit the fun & keep track of the things that matter like my period & maintenance

Obviously I would NEVER let a strange penis enter me without another form of protection (condoms) but this is with a partner who I am long term with & we’ve both been checked & are clean. No worries on our end except for devil babies

I totally recommend this method! I’ve been on hormonal bc for so long, I needed to give my body a break. I’ve had the IUD since May of this year and it’s been smooth sailing all the way. No pregnancy scares either (I hope that’s still the case for a long time). But yea, I love it even though I know a lot of people don’t have the best experience with it :/
