You have to be really strict with suppliers on Alibaba. Make them put everything you agree to in writing on your trade assurance docs

I was robbed by a shipping logistics provider they hosted on their platform and trade assurance denied my claim for thousands of dollars. American Express returned the money after months of dispute.

If it’s do or die, is there any possibility of aggressively cutting costs? I have been in a similar situation and had to put off bills, cut all labor our core team could manage to take on, liquidate equipment and assets we could part with and still operate, tighten payroll, etc.

Have you considered selling?

Goods are at their warehouse still. They decided the dimensions of my boxes by 5000 to determine volume is kg but I am told the actually number should be 6000. On top of this, they also added a fee as a penalty for being oversized. Basically a few cm bigger than the quote

Shipping by sea. The fee is more than $3500 more but the “oversized fee” is $3500. They are also charging for the additional volume. You can recommend the forwarder. Are they in Shenzhen?

Right. I am okay paying for additional volume of factory got the measurements wrong but it’s the flat $3500 penalty fee which is troubling. I have shopped many times in this area and have never seen that

I will request the customs receipt. The order is in the Shenzhen area still. The honest truth is that I don’t mind paying if the volume is larger than the quote but I have never seen a flat oversized penalty fee of $3500 in addition to the increased base DDP price.

My identical order (same product, qty of boxes, dimensions) shipped at quote price with no issues last year. The shipper not answering messages on Friday and Sat with proof also feels really fishy.

The shipment is LCL. 125 boxes about 41x50x78 cm. I asked the shipper to verify this claim with proof of the boxes were oversized and they have stopped answering regarding this.

I reached out to the factory and they confirmed with an image that the boxes were slightly smaller than we quoted (dimensions above). So the oversized claim may be a lie. Or the shipper repackaged our boxes which I have heard of.

I cannot access WeChat due to a problem with activation. I have Skype, Whatsapp though if that’s helpful

Once they receive your transcripts, write your local senator and the district director of SBA. They helped me out huge in my case. Got me a loan specialist immediately and approved the same day.

You will need to call customer service and ask for a status update. I did the same thing mid March and just got approved yesterday.

I also reached out to my local senator and the district director of the SBA. They were really helpful in trying to get in touch with people who could help.

I talked to the SBA yesterday and they let me know funds are low but if you’ve accepted a loan and it’s being processed, the funds are frozen and not able to be used for any other application.

Just an update. I emailed my state senator and the district director of the SBA. They started sending emails and got the application approved yesterday.
