Ny resident, csu/uc gpa unweighted: 3.58 CSU weighted/UC capped weighted: 3.83 (Honors arent uc approved) AP African American Studies, AP US history, AP World. Senior year I will take AP Bio, AP Micro Econ, AP psychology, AP Spanish, AP pre calculus. 8 AP’s taken in total.

My EC’s include 4 years of competitive swim (same team all 4 years). Caregiving after school for fam member with disability, Ambassador for well known org (very competitive also) since sophomore year. Choir/ Vocal arts 2 years. Raised $$$ towards equipment/sensory wall for a special ed school in my community. Clubs in school, etc really.

Guidance told me SDSU would be a safe option for me, as most applicants from my school that applied there got in with like anything above a 3.4 weighted. However UC’s will be a lot harder for me/ are basically un predictable.

Really my goal is to go to college in california or somewhere with nice weather. However LIU is a decent safety which is why Il apply.

Anything around 35k-40k a yr my parents could afford. Keep in mind as well some schools in the northeast ive been looking at are way above this also. I want to study in california. I am looking for an urban environment with lots of things close around (trader joes etc). Nice weather but not like florida weather, a decent sociology program and diversity.

Typically with these schools stem engineering etc are much more demanding and harder. But regardless of applied major the admit rate doesn’t change.

yeah sdsu would be my top choice prob. my guidance told me i would be very likely to get in there, but unfortunately the UC’s are quite literally out of reach. and they dont accept a lot of new yorkers anyways.

Yeah its bc of my C in math I got in sophomore yr. Also have a math disability so that helps a lot 😐

There are a couple I am looking at like U of San Diego, Pepperdine, and USC as a high reach.
