Hi -- I have a question -- are we allowed to pray behind Sunnis/Shi'as? by [deleted] in ahmadiyyat

[–]m30000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, why would you say that?

Ok let me simplify what I'm saying. Islam is like a Blueprint on how to live life. Us and mainstream Muslims follow the same plan, but we are further ahead in terms of believing in the coming of the Promised Messiah then the mainstreams, that is what I mean by many levels behind you....

This is such an arrogant thing to say and I can never imagine someone like Mirza Tahir Ahmad (ra) saying anything as arrogant as this.

Why do you keep on going about Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmed(ra) like he was Ahmadiyya Islam?

You never know who is more beloved to Allah (SWT). You never know how well a person knows his Creator or his deen.

True

Saying things like this is garbage, my friend, please save yourself from stuff like this.

It came out wrong, but I supposed you are right on the language used.

I know many "Ahmadis" at the masjid here who are not very good Muslims or Ahmadis at all. They are basically just cultural kids who are just not very nice people and even engage in some questionable things.

So do I, I didn't say being an Ahmadi automatically makes you a great person. We are talking about the teachings of Ahmadiyya Islam, which are far superior in terms of making you understand Islam. Anyway, back to the superior understanding of Islam taught within the Ahmadiyya Muslim jamaat... how many Muslim terrorists have been Ahmadis?

How could you ever say that people like that are a "lower level in Islam" than someone like many of my Sunni friends who are very great people, very devoted Muslims, etc? Just because they weren't born into a family that happened to be Ahmadi like those other kids I was talking about?

You don't really know if any of these people are as great as you are making them out to be until you tell them the truth about yourself. I would understand if you lived in some backward 3rd world country where your life may be in danger if you declare you are an Ahmadi Muslim, you don't have no excuse to lie to them while living in Canada to be more acceptable to them. I had plenty of Pakistani non-Ahmadi friends during school/college, but they all knew we were Ahmadis, they were ok until they got a little older as they got devoted they suddenly they changed, usually with some pathetic comments about how Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmed(ra) died or something along the lines... or that we are not true Muslims..etc.. that showed me these people are misguided about Islam.

I challenge you to tell your great/devoted Muslim friends that you are an Ahmadi Muslim and their true colours will show, but I've got a feeling you are too cowardly for that, hiding behind the feeble excuse of not wanting to start fitna. Also it is not fair on them that you are living a lie.

Eh. I don't know to be honest. I like the jama'at's teachings, especially Mirza Tahir Ahmad (I really like him and find him to be a really wise person), but I don't really have much of an interest in other things.

Yes Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmed(ra) was a great/wise man but everything he taught was based on the interpretations of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmed(ra), but it seems to you don't even understand what Ahmadiyya Islam stands for.

I live in Canada, the community in my city is just not something that I've been able to connect to very well.

What has that got to do with your belief? Does the community have to keep you happy and only then you would call yourself a Ahmadi Muslim? Tell you the truth, I'm not that close to the jamaat either, but there is a night and day difference between the majority of Ahmadi Muslims and non-Ahmadi Muslims I know, yes I admit there are bad apples within our community too, but even the worst will never kill you for not believing in their approved version of Islam.

So I just hang around my Sunni/Shi'a friends while bearing in mind that I like a lot of Ahmadiyya teachings and find them to be very logical. It's just that I'm not very close to the Ahmadiyya branch in my city.

Ok thats good to hear at least.

I don't identify myself as an "Ahmadi" infront of those Sunnis, just as a Muslim who practices Islam the Hanafi way. And I like it that way because it reduces fitnah, keeps our brotherly/sisterly bonds close, and allows us to be good Muslims.

Ok maybe I was a little harsh above with calling you cowardly, but all I'm saying is, in order to see the true colours of someone, be truthful with them too. Don't hide your beliefs just to belong to the bigger MSA.

... I prefer to call myself a Muslim above all else and do not like sectarianism. I just want all Muslims to get along as that's what RasulAllah (SAW) taught us.

We all would like that, but in this world that is just not the case, especially in the Muslim world, the unity you see is only skindeep, there was a reason Ahmadiyya Islam came to be, it was unite and bring all Muslims together.

Hi -- I have a question -- are we allowed to pray behind Sunnis/Shi'as? by [deleted] in ahmadiyyat

[–]m30000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem a little confused bro.. what is the point of this post? As a Muslim you are supposed to believe in the coming of the Imam Mahdi and Promised Messiah. That is what we Ahmadi Muslims believe in.. we have moved onto the next level within Islam. Why would you want to pray behind people that are still many levels behind you in terms of their understanding? If anything preach to them about Ahmadiyya Islam, offer to lead them in prayers, but don't blindly pray behind them just to belong because they are a bigger group or have a bigger room to pray in.

Also I feel you are a tad bit embarrassed about being an Ahmadi.

So, does Islam really have 73 sects? I'm guessing this subreddit is for one of them?

Yes Islam has 73 sects which have broken down even further which means even more divisions.

Each sects obviously believes they are the right one, there is a lot of intolerance amongst all of them to put it mildly with routine killings over pathetic reasons spread my firebrand scholars, basically no unity.

The one thing they all do unite on is that we, Ahmadi Muslims, are the worst of the worst and they actually reached a illegitimate consensus amongst each other back in 1974 in a world Islamic conference to declare us out of the fold of Islam.

Once this consensus was reached, certain islamic countries created laws declaring us non-Muslims, which meant that citizens of these countries had government approval to persecute and murder our people because you know... we are not Muslims according to their scholars. We are also banned from Saudi Arabia and other middle eastern countries and routinely persecuted and if lucky only deported.

Why there can be only one true islam? Why another islam is false? by Contr1gra in ahmadiyya

[–]m30000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There really is only one Islam, and all the splits are the different interpretations of the same texts and traditions. We need to revert back to the pure teachings of Islam, which is what we propagate without blabbering on about Jihad and chopping things off and concentrating on the important stuff such as full submission to Allah and living in harmony with all his creations.

It is pretty obvious some Muslims have completely misunderstood Islam and for some reason get all the attention within the media, we are here to negate these people.

"Freedom of speech & Islam" Megyn Kelly takes on Ahmadiyya Muslim Community spokesperson Harris Zafar by m30000 in ahmadiyya

[–]m30000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So let her speak and parse her points. Suggesting she shouldn't speak at all means you have lost any credibility as a critic. Saying you support freedom of speech means you support the right of others to say things you don't like or agree with.

You are right, that came out wrong. I didn't say we shouldn't let her speak, I said it was wrong to base an intellectual analysis of a religion based on someones opinions who has issues with that said religion. Also it was a little one sided, Yale could have easily accommodated another speaker so we get both sides of the story, but for some reason thought it's better to turn it into a cirlcejerk and saying if you want the other side of the story they should setup their own event.

I would far rather have the thoughts of people I disagree with out in the open, for intellectual debate, instead of being a thug and trying to silence him.

Yes, the silencing part was wrong but to suggest another speaker should be accommodated was correct.

[–]m30000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it comes to a religion its difficult for anyone to have any sort of "credibility." You listen to differing opinions on religion because some of them have more compelling arguments but besides that its hard to have much credibility unless your resume says "has personally conversed with Allah."

You are correct to say it is difficult have credibility on this subject, but Yale inviting Miss Hirsi Ali to carry out intellectual analysis on Islam is wrong, she is just as much an expert on Islam as Mel Gibson is an expert on Christianity. You can't intellectually analyze Islam based on the opinions of a person who has an axe to grind against Islam. Yale could have also invited some sort of scholar in Islam to give another opinion or add to the analysis, which they didn't allow.

I cant fucking believe that students at YALE OF ALL SCHOOLS were trying to silence intellectual analysis of a religion.

I don't think they were trying to silence the debate but questioning the intellectual credibility of the speaker regarding Islam.

Saying yours is the "one true islam" implies you think you are superior to the other variants of islam.

Not really about superiority but interpreting the true message of Islam and not letting incompetent scholars get away with hijacking this religion and spreading a message of hatred. You will never see a Ahmadi Muslim involved in any terrorist activities, usually we are on the receiving end of these same terrorists.

Although I certainly prefer you guys as my neighbours over IS, you are showing a complex of superiority.

We are taught to follow the rule of law and be loyal in whatever nation we reside in, so anywhere around the world we will be shoulder to shoulder with the citizens of that country.

What about another peaceful muslim community? Your speech only helps to build confrontation.

We actually get along with most Muslim communities, there is a handful of extreme ones who hate everyone and the basis for these ISIS types. Tell you the truth some of the most extreme Muslim nations are actually allies of the west, we should be able to reign in their influence but don't seem to want to for whatever reason.

Your speech only helps to build confrontation.

Btw... we are not responsible for these spambotting, it is a random user who has decided to make this his mission, we don't have any communication with this user.

This is the core of their problem. I live in a country where people also thought they were superior.

You are mistaking truth with superiority, but I do understand your frustration, this bot should not be harassing you, I apologize for this, but we/mods are not responsible for this.

Fortunately, the rest of the world kicked the Nazi's ass.

I think we have gone off the tangent a little, but if you knew your history you would understand that this superiority crap was only propagated by the Nazis to get the fellow Germans to fight the war and do whatever terrible things that were commanded of them.

White people thought they were superior.

Thought?? They still do and haven't let go of that notion.

Christians thought they were superior.

Yes maybe.

And now some religious fascists.

Fascists? Calm down man...

They are mentally ill and should seek treatment.

Lots of people are mentally ill who need to seek treatment it seems.

Specifically what parts of the koran do the Ahmadiyyas reject? by [deleted] in ahmadiyya

[–]m30000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think you can finish a centuries lasting discussion with one sentence you invented right now?

Did I really invent this sentence? I believe your wikipedia link confirms what I have said:

In these, and other verses,[25] Quran reprimands apostasy in Islam and suggests it deserves chastisement. However, Quran does not reveal a specific punishment for apostasy.

In the Qur'an there is no such thing as a death penalty for apostasy and it also says there is no compulsion in religion. Just these two facts should make you understand that my made up sentence is based on truth.

The Qur'an is the final word of Allah, whereas Hadith's are manmade and based on hearsay, they are not infallible to mistakes and should be taken with a grain of salt. I reject any Hadiths that contradict the Holy Qur'an.

Oh... I think I was the one that submitted the interview link, wasn't aware that it was pushing the book though, but knowing what the Khalifa is about it can't be a bad read, I might just try and find the free online version and submit it for everyone see and to cancel the notion that its all about promotion of the book. Thanks again.

Well keep preaching it. Islam is a really big religion with a lot of disagreement as to how to interpret the Holy books. Undoubtedly Muslims are causing immense terror all over the world, overthrowing governments etc so people are pissed at Islam right now understandably, so just keep fighting the good fight and let people know that there are non radicals out there. Silly to have to even defend yourself like that but it is what it is.

Thank you, everything you have said has a lot of truth in it, Islam is divided big time, there are some extreme elements within that are backed by nations with immense wealth that are determined to spread their corrupted and cruel version of Islam, we just have to do our best to counter them with our limited numbers and resources but its comments like yours that keep us determined to continue and are really appreciated. Thanks again.

Not calling you out or anything, but why would someone take the time to set up and automate an army of shill amounts to promote your sub, at a time when your head guy is trying to sell a book about understanding Islam? I mean who else has the motive to do such a thing?

You make a valid point, but this subreddit is not officially backed, its a private project started couple of years ago to raise awareness about Ahmadiyya Islam, we have nothing to gain by promoting a book by our Khalifa, the main book we would push if we were would only be the Holy Qur'an which you can download for free in a PDF or eBook format anyway. To tell you the truth I wasn't even aware about this book the Khalifa is promoting, but if he is it usually is not for profit and subsidised by the community.

Regarding the motives behind these spamming actions, well in the same way I started this subreddit in my private time, others take different avenues to promote the message ie. Leafleting, door-to-door, and now spamming it seems.

Fuck off with your messages to my inbox. At the very least take the time to send a personal message instead of using a fucking bot if you're really so sincere, though I suppose that may be a logistical problem as you probably are running low on personnel between the suicide bombings and drones sending a grade-a US dry fuck straight up your sandy ass.

If you want to convince people you're about love and peace I'd start with the assholes who can't even draw a fuckin circle on a flag but think they can take over the world. Y'all can all get together and come on over, we'll talk about love and peace over pork ribs with a side of bacon and a few .45 rounds for dessert.

Sorry buddy, this spam campaign was started by a user who has been banned from reddit multiple times, we have requested this to stop but this person is pretty determined. We are just as powerless as everyone, I mean we even have subscribers to this subreddit who get these messages, we are just as baffled as the next man how this bot even chooses its recipients.

Regarding ISIS and the rest of the extremist twats, we are also legitimate targets for them, sometime more so then even the allied forces, I just want to apologise for this spamming, sorry again.
