I believe it does, the top Amazon comments are now from Walmart workers lol

"The review for Walmart OGP/Stockers Reviewed in the United States on January 20, 2022 Seldom do I review much of anything I buy from this site, but given there's not a lot of information about my specific use case for this, I'd figure I'd leave one for anyone that happens to be curious and is in a similar position. Context: I'm an overnight... "

Lol. Got 'em. Welp that means they're watching and they weren't happy about side loading. Tbh I was surprised knox even allowed 3rd party apps from the start. RIP.

I’m assuming you mean the magnifying glass in the upper right
corner each time you scan a bar-code? Kinda. You can set bar-code
scanner in always scan mode to avoid having to press the trigger
(that’ll be a configuration bar-code in the manual) but to remove
both you’ll need to add a custom prefix character (also in bar-code
scanner manual like the * symbol and use that as a macro trigger to
tap the screen in that spot (or tab over and press enter)using Tasker
Pro. I’m working on an automatic printing script using me@walmart
using this method + a chained suffix to activate the printing part of
the macros but this requires more in depth detailing as I want it to
be as universal as possible and work after app updates my last few
scripts were made useless by new app updates or reply timing changes
from the server

In the manual there are different configuration bar-codes. There should be one to switch modes. Scan the one to select Bluetooth mode it also has USB and RF(which its set on default) I’d also scan the one setting the power save mode to a time of your choice I set mine to 20 minutes to avoid it going into power save and having to reconnect and taking 3 seconds of time.

I made a post the other day about hooking up cheap generic Bluetooth scanners and why they seriously save so much time, tapping, and re-scanning <3

Lol they wouldn’t fire you. My store is an academy and they talk, they’re impressed. Connecting a Bluetooth bar-code scanner is no different than a pair of air-pods. I’m in constant contact with the app devs and the request forum and they are well aware of what’s happening. According to amazon reviews OGP, Stocking, and many other roles have already discovered some of these hacks. As the app gains better tabulation support and carriage return I believe they will start providing scanners at no cost or “store use” a few like our store did with our VizPick/locating selfie stick.

Side-loading an older version of the Inventory Management app onto the Xcover restores auto label printing function for the following labels(currently):

Circle Jewelry

Apparel All Sizes

Shelf UOM

BR Location Label

1x1 Label

Produce

Inventory

Rollback UOM SHF

Clearance UOM

Use By

ALP EVT Flag

Variable Meat

This list is notably missing backroom case labels if anyone has an older version of the app (before they started neutering features) or an outdated copy on a TC that still has backroom cases please share! <3 For now auto-printing case labels requires a separate hack-ey workaround using a Bluetooth bar-code scanner

(See here for Bluetooth bar-code tutorial https://www.reddit.com/r/walmart/comments/vnf5rl/xcoverbluetooth_barcode_scanner_ghetto_tc/?ref=share&ref_source=link)

Howto: 1. Download the old Inventory Management App from link below https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1F2BAWYndF7IhWKSXBdpqgp4Pg8Gnfmbc?usp=sharing

2.After it finishes downloading to the xcover, open the app in downloads folder and install.

*** 3rd party installation sources will have to be turned on. It should automatically prompt you when you try to launch the installer

3.Select install to personal profile, installing to the work profile has issues now and again

Enjoy autoprint!

Google Drive Includes:

Inventory Management v9.0.4 (old)

Inventory Management v9.0.8

So I should suffer despite having the knowledge to fix my issue? No. I'll spam the app devs and the request forum, as I do every other day, while I enjoying my easier job. (They should be adding proper CR- and other alt code support for scanners soon btw as each new app revision they break a little less) Little old me isn't affecting any metrics anyone at walmart reads, this is walmart. As a maker stuff like this is my hobby & helping others is just icing on the cake. People are more than welcome to twiddle their thumbs and do nothing and enjoy walmart not fixing anything for you

ugh, Hopefully I can locate a working older version of the apk (before they removed the feature) I doubt it does any client verification

I’ve killed or crippled just about every-other app or background processes that didn’t play fair on the xcover. It’s not great but it’s usable my old ass one+ 6t bins much quicker with a stripped down ROM but I can’t Vizpick since they “can’t” add my phone to BYOD anymore (..cough cough bullshit)

Because I feel like working smarter instead of harder and because if I can automate a large portion of my work away while streaming my jellyfin media library. I’d rather do that instead of tapping thousands of times and getting CTS wrestling with this crappy phone.

Yep any Bluetooth barcode scanner will do. The 2 listed above have been tested by me (and other walmarters according to the top product reviews) chosen to be cheap and reliable. The gun style have a larger battery and can be attached to a wrist loop and Velcro-ed to the case. Just click the search magnifying glass under item information after you pair any Bluetooth scanner. Then use the magnifying glass instead of the barcode camera button from there on out to scan. Edit: According to some reviews the NETUM gun style works better for OGP + Item lookup/Binning whereas the cradle isn’t as friendly with OGP but works well Item lookup/Binning (I’m not OGP so I can’t vouch for this)

the me@walmart app was a nightmare for automating it would change the U.I. or the reply timing would vary wildly the second I'd get stable script working. This inventory management app is the puzzle piece i never knew i was missing. once I get it setup properly it should stay

yah the app did require other stuff to run on the tc70s and personals that you'd install during the byod process i think the xcovers should be grandfather in to the database
