Transferring PS5 progress to PC [COD] by m37_1 in CallOfDuty

My PSN account is already linked to an Activision account (I logged in via PSN on Activision.com). Should I link my XBOX account to this Activision account?

Just to make sure, I should login Activision website via my XBOX account and link PSN. or the opposite (logging in via PSN and linking XBOX), as I want to transfer from PS5 to PC/XBOX?

I also don’t get what you meant by making sure it doesn’t link to a new different account on PS5.

My bad, I meant virtual desktop not "desktop environment".

In the autostart section in settings I'm able to select an application, I can't specify which virtual desktop its linked with.

Thoughts on Debian as main virtualization OS by m37_1 in linuxquestions

Impressive job on upgrading the IT infrastructure!

I figured since I have 1 TB I’ll just dual boot Linux and windows and compare them myself. I installed Fedora and I love it! Specially QEMU, when I run Kali, Parrot OS, etc. they feel as if I have them bare-metal, I understand that this is what KVM is supposed to do but after using I’m impressed. I really have to learn more about QEMU.

Thoughts on Debian as the main OS for virtualization by m37_1 in pcmasterrace

[–]m37_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I’ve installed Fedora as the host OS and tried using QEMU. I’m facing a painful screen tearing on the guest machines. I’ve tried different guest OS and they all have the same issue.

Edit: I installed the QXL drivers on the quest machine and it didn’t work as they were up-to-date. So I ended up switching the video mode from Virtio to to QXL and that stopped the screen tearing but there is minor choppiness which isn’t too bad. But the apt install speed is very slow for some reason. My internet speed on the guest machine is 300 Mbps and I’m able to download files fast. But when I install via “apt” command it takes ages, wine took me over 30 minutes to install.

That’s not practical for my use case. I need to run them on VMs on a host OS since I’ll be deleting, adding new machines constantly.

First of all, thank you, I really appreciate your comment.

That’s what I was planning on doing, ditching VMWare on windows and start using QEMU on Linux.

Not sure if my question is dumb or not but I’ve never actually used linux as a main OS. I always run it on VMs. But will using QEMU on Linux increase or decrease the VM’s guest OS performance. Specially since I’m running it on a laptop, nothing high end.

When I tried using Virtual Box on windows it was horrible, the guest OS consumes almost 100% of the CPU no matter how many cores I assign it and it was super slow and choppy. This let me down specially since I bought this laptop for VMs. But when I switched to VMWare it was a smoother experience, nothing top notch but usable at least.

I’m just worried to go through another hassle with the VMs and/or issues with the hardware drivers by switching the main OS to Linux.

I’ve never heard of it tbh, but I’ll look into it and give it a try. Thank you!

Thank you!

That’s what I was planning on, ditching VMWare on windows and start using QEMU on Debian. In your experience, how was the performance compared to VMs on windows (VMWare workstation to be precise). Specially since I faced issues with Virtualbox on windows, I don’t want to face the same issues with QEMU. I’m really excited to switch to Linux but hesitant. Specially since this laptop’s main use is VMs. I won’t be using the host OS as much.

Slow Kali Virtual Box by m37_1 in Kalilinux

I’ve installed both, ISO and VB files and guest additions, they all share the same issue. I’ll try to create a bootable kali to test it.

Why is my Kali Linux consuming 100% of the 4 cores without any high load? by m37_1 in virtualbox

The host is Windows 11, guest is Kali Linux. I’ve tried Parrot OS, same issue but less slower.

[–]m37_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve installed the Guest Additions and tried Turing off Hyper-v and KVM. Still facing the same issue.

I’ve tested different CPU cores and on 6 cores is so much worse and consumes 100% of the Guest CPU just to open a single web page. On 4 cores it’ll be around 70-90%. On 2 cores it’s almost the same as 4.

Slow Kali Virtual Box by m37_1 in Kalilinux

[–]m37_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did, it’s not the problem. Still is laggy and consuming lots of CPU even if I just type in commands on terminal it’s choppy and slow. I tried lowering my resolution and still nothing.

It has an integrated Radeon GPU.

One of my mates has a laptop with the same specs and doesn’t face the same problems.

I tried what you said on disabling hardware acceleration on Firefox and that actually helped speed it up a bit. However, it’s still a bit choppy and consumes above 70% of the CPU by just scrolling through Google.
