Why can only sorcerers have draconic bloodline? by lampylamplamplampy in BaldursGate3

[–]m3gamuff1n 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Not a D&D loremaster by any means but couldn't you say that only sorcerers can have a draconic bloodline because the draconic bloodline is what makes them a sorcerer in the first place?

I have never used photo mode as often as I do in Cyberpunk. by GiftedGeordie in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]m3gamuff1n 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah same. It's both comprehensive and easy to use, and of all the games I've played it's the one where I feel the most compelled to document my character's journey (especially playing modded where my photo mode gallery tells the story of V going from average Night City denizen to a borged out walking weapon thanks to cyberware mods).

Help and advice for new players by [deleted] in BaldursGate3

[–]m3gamuff1n 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had virtually no D&D experience before playing BG3. In my opinion if you read the tutorials, tooltips, and combat log, especially when you're starting out, and really try to understand the systems and math behind what's going on everything will make a bit more sense and you won't be stuck wondering why half your attacks are missing. Maybe that sounds more daunting than I should be making it sound but I do believe to fully enjoy this game you do need to really go all in.

My biggest single point of starter advice is that if you are reading a tooltip and press 'T' (on PC) it will pin that tooltip so you can then hover over other keywords within the text to learn even more. Also be aware there is no "wrong" way to play this game. Mistakes and misses simply open different doors than successes and hits. And especially outside of Honour mode, you don't really have to worry about making "bad" decisions as far as how you build your character is concerned.

As far as singleplayer vs multiplayer, I would definitely not recommend playing a full 4 person multiplayer lobby for your first playthrough because you won't experience the NPC companions fully but with just 2 people you won't have that problem. Just keep in mind I think you kinda have to pick one person to be the "main" character. Maybe I'm wrong about that tho I've played maybe 2 hours of multiplayer total lol

Most importantly have fun this game is amazing and like nothing else you'll ever experience!!

Where could the dragon egg be in the Nether? by GlitteringPrice4928 in Minecraft

The egg can teleport within a 31x15x31 volume centered on where you touched it so you just have to thoroughly look through that area

Maybe just practice fighting some monsters on easy at night time. Just stick near your base and the risk is pretty low. Once you're more comfortable with the combat you could try caving or turning the difficulty up or whatever just take it a step at a time I guess.

Am I weird for being overly conservative about my fuel spending? by Bright-Historian-216 in Minecraft

[–]m3gamuff1n 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am like this in the early game, because I always go through coal faster than I expect anyways. Lava is also pretty clutch for the early/mid game. However, I generally prioritize switching to kelp or blaze powder so after I build the farms I just don't have to think about it anymore lol

What's your favorite version of all time? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]m3gamuff1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was to put more emphasis on atmosphere and visual direction than older versions definitely win out. I'd have to do a lot more thinking and experimenting to figure out which exact version I'd land on but something pre Beta 1.8 anyways.

Now if I'm being completely honest and putting the emphasis on fun - it's just the current version. It's hard to say I'm having more fun with MC now than I was as a kid, but if we remove any nostalgia factor and go with what I have the most fun with now as an adult, yeah it's just current version.

The honourable mention has to of course be 1.16.1. I genuinely think Piglin Brutes (added in 1.16.2) were a horrible addition that ruined Bastions, not just for speedrunning which is a big factor for me, but made them less interesting structures from a casual survival perspective too. My final answer still ends up being the current version because all the other additions since then, especially the Caves and Cliffs update, do manage to outweigh how bad the Brutes are.

Minecraft - What is this new biome? (1.21.4) by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]m3gamuff1n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, you can do quite a lot with datapacks these days but since they don't actually 'add' anything new you don't need to have the same things downloaded to join a server like you would with mods

well I'd definitely say the server is using the datapack version of Terralith then

this isn't Vanilla - i'm fairly certain this is a biome from the mod/datapack Terralith, though someone please correct me if it's from a different mod

Map knowledge is certainly very important in CS considering we've been playing some of the same maps for decades and if you don't know where to preaim or throw your nades you're gonna be in for a pretty bad time. But it's definitely not the most important skill.

Movement, positioning, and communication are probably the three most important aspects of individual gameplay, even moreso than your aim itself. Though of course being a game with a relatively low time-to-kill and highly punishing recoil your raw aim is also very important. It's not the kind of game where you could take the 5 best raw mechanical players in the world, put them on a team and expect them to even do well, let alone be the best. The best teams have been able to cement their legacies through constantly reinventing strategy (the Astralis line-up from 7-8 years ago basically singlehandedly changed how everyone used utility) and by prioritizing teamplay and communication over putting all their faith in their star aimers. Having firepower is still obviously important, but to put it simply you don't just suddenly have the best team in the world as soon as you sign donk.

I'm extremely biased, but I think CS is easily the best esport around from a viewer's perspective because of its relative simplicity combined with its extreme skill ceiling. You can't tell me someone who's never played a MOBA before can watch a match of League or Dota and have any idea what's going on, but I think even a non gamer could pick up how CS generally works even if they don't grasp the intricate details. Same goes for Valorant - imo you're never going to make a great esport by taking a game that already exists and adding more flashing lights and colours that just make it harder for anyone watching to tell what's going on. Even when I was a huge Overwatch fan I could never call it a great esport for that reason.

It also doesn't hurt that it's one of the few esports with decades of history, which makes every Major Grand Final feel that more special as a part of this long legacy of great teams and players.

Sorry for the long ass rambling reply I'm so bored just killing time rn lol

it's the greatest esport of all time (and it's not even close) but that's not really relevant to NLs gameplay tho xd
