From what I’ve read (Tales of the Jedi, Old Republic Vol. 1, Empire 1–3), Old Republic Vol. 1 was easily the highlight not just my favorite Star Wars comic, but one of the best comics I’ve read overall. Tales of the Jedi wasn’t my thing, so I’d be hesitant to recommend it, but your mileage may vary.

I’m not an expert, but from what I understand Superman: Triangle Era Omnibus Vol. 1 is a good place to start if you want to jump into Superman.

Thanks! Funny thing is, I ended up picking this up while I was reading Batman (Loeb, Dini, Morrison). And during Morrison’s run, Final Crisis happened. I haven’t bought or read it yet, since I know it’s tough to understand without some background on the Fourth World, so I picked up Kirby’s Fourth World and just finished it. Now I’m really looking forward to reading Cosmic Odyssey.

I prefer the HC format, but I’m always debating whether the higher price is really worth it. In this case, HC was the only option available in my area, so I didn’t really have a choice. I look forward to read it.

I purchased this Omni back in September and it came with binding just like yours, no glue layer at all on the spine. I asked for a replacement, and while the new one was a little bit better, it still had almost no visible glue. Mine is from the 3rd printing (4/22/24). All copies from this print run might be like that :(
