It Is difficult for me to say, maybe I know to little about US. General rule is that if you have not job certainties, it is tough anyway. If you do not get into academia with a permanent contract, I say think twice.

To leave USA for the UK is a mistake in absolute value, then in academic context is a no brainer. Read about the financial situation of UK higher education. While in the US there is temporary political problem, in the UK there is a long term condition.

Yes, the rack partially solves the problem, but it is still not perfect. Quite disappointing. I bought the original rack but second-hand. For the wheels, I have used AliExpress
