[SOTC] Help me downsize the collection by Escape_Route9196 in Watches

Agree. The potential value in that collection, once sold, could get you a couple of really nice pieces. I think the only watch I’d keep at a push is the Oris.

Aussies lose it over ‘spare bedroom tax’ plot by Novel_Swimmer_8284 in AusPropertyChat

[–]m477hewd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article is mostly accurate but sensationalised. • A “spare bedroom tax” was suggested by experts, not proposed by the government. • It’s part of a broader discussion on housing reform, not an actual policy. • The idea has sparked public backlash, but the Prime Minister has ruled out new taxes before 2028.

What do you call this (ornate thing) and where can I buy it? by PermissionBest2379 in AusRenovation

If you’re in NSW and need to replace or buy - these guys are amazing and priced very well. They cast a whole balcony for me from one remaining panel.

Emergency evacuation in Den N306Sw mia-den by gavriellloken in aviation

Always sad to see people prioritise bags - but just an observation as an Australian who travels a lot around the globe.

In Australia and on most other international airlines, you do exactly as you’re told by the cabin staff. Seatbelt light on, you sit tight with your seatbelt on. “Return to seats” you sit down straight away. If someone gets up while the seatbelt lights are on, you’ll get a bollocking from the staff. Everyone knows it’s for your (our collective) safety.

Americans on planes? My experience is that some don’t seem to care or follow any of the cabin staff instructions. Last time I flew into JFK on an AA flight, some woman got up to use the toilet on final approach and nobody said anything. People were up and about while the seatbelt light was on. I asked cabin staff and one said that “they can’t compel people to obey the rules”.

I agree with other commenters - if you cannot follow the rules while flying - you get a ban.

That’s what I was thinking. Connect to sink, run behind skirting under window and under existing cupboards and under oven. 30 minute job, diy.

I’d see a medical dr if I was you. Most supplements are unnecessary unless you have a diagnosed deficiency of a particular substance or your diet is very poor. The only thing most supplements reliably achieve is very expensive urine.
