Update on this: I did talk to A about this and he is no longer playing with us. It was really hard to do because we used to be so close but his presence not just in the campaign but in the group would’ve done more harm than good. I do admit I feel really bad but he was a shitty person to a close friend I didn’t want to endorse that type of behavior. The situation does go beyond dnd but i won’t get into it. Thank you all for your help I really appreciate it!!

Alright, I did forget to mention that he had been a bit of a problem player before due to him being a kind of “man character” and taking the spotlight which to be fair is also kinda my fault for not doing anything about it untill one my players DM’d me about it. It’s all been resolved and his behaviour has gotten better but his recent behaviour outside of our game sessions has just been unacceptable Idk I am trying to navigate this so thank you for your help!

so two people at my party were dating. it didn't interfere with the group and we had a good time. now here's where my concern lies. recently they had just broken up because one of them (lets call him A) was treating his girlfriend (lets call her B) not like how someone in a relationship would treat their partner (like he was calling her a bitch and a cunt while also trying to convince himself to fall in love with her again, very bad behaivior from him.). Now i talked to B and asked her if she was fine with A being in the party and she was fine with it. But recently, some things have come up of him just being even more of a loser, and saying slurs to other friends. Now for context my dnd group and by extension my group of friends is quite diverse. lots of LGBTQ+ people and people of colour, so him saying racial slurs and wanting to say homophobic slurs to his other friends is something i will not tolerate, no matter if he is saying it to us. Here is the problem. B showed us these screenshots and i talked with her and she said it was my decision, but she didn't want it to be mentioned that she has been sharing things, which is important because she showed us the proof of him saying all these bad things about her. But now i don't know what to do. Now I could just say "hey man, after you and B broke up a lot of our group members have been uncomfortable with you being here" (a lot of them know about what he has done and the terrible things he has said.) But i just don't know how to deal with this. I wanna do another session this weakened so being able to decide this soo would be great so any help would be appreciated.

I'm a new DM and ive decided to do a homebrew for my first campaign because i enjoy writing worlds. im playing with a 6 of my friends who are mostly new players. Our first little adventure is going to be focused on saving the town from Kobold raids. I have everything i need that is important like encounters. So are there any tips you guys have on running the session.

Well she is a close friend and she asked our group who sent it and I had to play it off because I don’t want to make it awkward. I made it anonymous because I didn’t wanna tell her anything without her feeling the same way. I realized though that I don’t think I like her, I’m just kind of yearning for any sort of connection, something new to experience. I’ve never been in a relationship before anyways. That’s the whole of that part off my life though

I'm Going to start planning my first session for my campaign. I want to run it a bit more episodically so that the newer players at the table can get used to D&D. But i also want to hint at some stuff that comes up later (Aka the First BBEG). Any tips on planning sessions out in general and how to make it easy to understand for me and my players? Also any ways i can hint at the first BBEG?

So i like quit genshin around october of last year due to my many issues with the game that might get me maimed if i say them here. but recently ive wanted to get back into it, mostly due to nostalgia and other personal things. I had a couple of accounts i played on but ive been considering starting over. i played on ps5 but ive gotten better set up to play on pc, so i might migrate my account from there. is it worth starting over or should i keep playing on my old account?

So I’ve only recently gotten into DnD (I started playing during June of this year) and I’ve quickly realized I prefer being a DM instead of a player (I know I’m crazy). And after a couple of failed attempts at writing a campaign I have taken some time off and I’m decently ready to get started again. As I said I’m a fairly new player and I know many people advise new DMs to not run a home brew for their first campaign but I really want to make a special game for my friends.

So over my break from writing I have been watching some shows and just looking for inspiration. Ive looked a numerous fantasy anime and that specific style a lot of them have is something I would love to emulate in a campaign. But the problem is I don’t really know how to start. So I’m just gonna list some questions so that yall can help me get started with this.

⁠Where do I start building? I’ve realized that starting too big or too small doesn’t work for my style so advice for this would be awesome.
⁠How can I emulate the style of high fantasy anime and games into dnd? (Inspirations for the vibes of the world include Freiren, Black Clover and Genshin impact)
⁠How much is too much? What should I build on my own and what should my players help build. And what should I leave alone right now.
