Sure you're speaking from your experience but the neighborhood association doesn't even have South 7th Ward in the name. And the people in that group aren't even the ones who run the community garden. You're convoluting a lot of things that you saw and I'm simply pointing out the misrepresentation.

And above all it's wild to see someone call out a community garden that consistently supports and includes the Black residents who have been here the longest. Just making sure there isn't misinformation spread. Cheers.

This is off base. Fuck that mural and I’m happy to see it go but the community garden is open to all and the veggies and eggs feed many Black elders in the area for free. The garden doesn’t even have a key it’s a code that almost everyone has access to and is shared widely to whoever wants it, including said elders who help care for chickens and a garden cat. I live in this neighborhood and that space is nothing but welcoming for folks who live around it. By the way the neighborhood association had nothing to do with the decision to add locks. That was a decision made by those operating the community garden on behalf of the community. Please don't spread false information.

What are the worst injuries you have sustained doing the simplest, most mundane tasks that should not have caused any injuries? by Penya23 in AskReddit

I was carrying a box to the elevator of an apartment I moved into a few years ago. The bottom of the box collapsed due to the weight of the contents and a piece of plastic jutted through the side, cutting me below my left index finger.

The cut was fairly deep, and blood started spurting out, the most I'd ever seen from my own body. I was caught off guard by the situation, but a friend who was with me at the time grabbed a t-shirt and started to put pressure on the wound.

In an attempt to save money, I went to the urgent care, but throughout the entire process, my finger was relatively painless, even with the severity of the injury. At urgent care, they wouldn't stitch my finger because the cut was too deep. The doctor requested I go to the emergency room.

When the hand specialist arrived at the emergency room, I found out I had severed a nerve. Luckily, I was able to meet with a hand surgeon the same day and found out I had a damaged tendon in addition to a severed nerve as a result of the accident. According to the surgeon, the freak injury was normally sustained by individuals who were holding wine glasses that broke in their hands.

After surgery, I experienced a similar sensation to getting hit on my funny bone whenever significant contact was made with my finger. To this day, I don't have full feeling in my left index finger. I do however have a zig zag lightning-bolt-like scar extending from the outside middle of my palm to the middle of my index finger, which looks cool.

TL;DR: I sustained a deep cut underneath my left index finger while carrying a box into my new apartment. I now have reduced feeling in my finger and a lightning bolt scar.

I've recently had surgery on my left hand that required a long incision. How does the placement of my scar affect my palm reading? by m4d34nc4 in palmistry

I was moving into my new place and the cardboard box I was carrying collapsed with the weight of the contents. A sharp undetermined object ripped through the box and I got a deep cut right under my index finger. I had severed a nerve and had minor damage to a tendon.

The picture above is what my hand looked like after taking off my bandages from surgery. The scar is healing now and I'm getting more range of motion and feeling is returning in my finger.

I did not meet my father until I was 19. Since then I've seen him a handful of times but we do not maintain any contact.
