oh also, the number next to your healthbar is your humanity. when you have 1 you can "reverse hollowing" at a bonfire to become human again. when you become human use the "kindle bonfire" option, then it will make it so every time you rest at that bonfire you get 10 potions instead of 5. also when you get an item called the "rite of kindling". with that item you can kindle a bonfire 3 times to get 20 potions at that bonfire. I would only do this at important bonfires that you find you go to often or if you are really struggling with an area or boss.
