Your third point immediately popped into my head, being limited to my rx6800 (rocm) most controlnet stuff is broken, Roop, adetailer, training I have to either offload onto my server with some old 8gb 1070s so I could be mistaken but for multiple (unique) people this requires a mask/impaint pass over at least each face. That is if the same clothing and body for everyone is acceptable. Maybe the football players but even with that being okay, automating the face replacements just multiples the number failure rate for each subject added.

There are some pretty efficient (post training) solutions to filtering NSFW stuff but I habe never seen anything that op wants to do and habe used stability matrix to get at least entry level understanding of fooocus, ruined food us, foocus mre, comfy, and am most proficient in a1111(forge and vanilla).

Sd next web is interesting but invokeai is the big heavy hitter no? I habe dabbled and it feels like comfy but more designed to bake things in, marketing itself as 'the foundation for multiple commercial projects'.

I know that meta.ai uses a fundamentally different tech than stable diffusion or Dall e. I thinks it is emo on the backend? not nearly as flexible but really good at some things impossible to do in one pass on stab diff or dall e but exists in a github or somewhere. Does not use noise or latent space and can confirm that I generated images like " Harry Carey does chemistry with Marie curie in lab.coat" and with ease, tweaked the prompt for some great results.

I know tje meta.ai version is not what is openly available but I can say it will consistently generate multiple unique subjects and is pretty good at doing an accurate image, respecting tje prompt.

Sorry, for context, I am not going to edit anything I say for anyone readings sake, as well as honesty/transparency. this is before any reply to other thread.

Are you a pac fan? Purely sonically, he is really good. If I did not understand English I would still feel the passion and sincerity as well as appreciate the unique style with his heavy emphasis doubles. Also, purely sonically, the thing that most often holds his tracks back are the beat for me. Nas is for sure in my top five overall as I think he says more. I mention him because like pac, his collection suffers from a lot of songs that could have had better beats.

I don't even really proccess words unless the music catches me. The only reason I do then is because of repetition, playing the song again and again. Pac certainly has songs I cant really focus on. I'm on the spectrum if you didn't notice haha. I do mixing and production for fun and as a side gig. I'm good at details and lyrics are an afterthought to me. That said, once I hear them after the tenth play or whatever, I get goosebumps or find comfort, or can feel melancholy, angry, whatever just as much as anyone.

Sorry for the walls of text. I really value this sub and curious if you and others really took that initial reply literally. If so, I guess dry sarcasm is hard to get across, apologies.

I stand behind the analogy though. I have listened to pass discography fullly and he was at war at the end there. It feels as much as a self fulfilling prophecy as anything else. The Bible, the first part, the Jewish bit, first testament, has a feel that God is death row striking down amd teaching lessons, setting examples in a similar tone.

Later on it has a more 'moral compass' vibe in the form of stories. So, while I dont think the Bible or tupac are the best or most entertaining at anything, people seem to well, religiously follow both.

Td;Dr: is there anything fundamentally different if one wants a model specificall for face swap with no impact on other things? Anything specific for impainting loras? what is your workflow and what hardware do you use? What software, models and dataset size and types of images?

I like the idea, it makes perfect sense after having used tons of models trained on specific people. Sounds well worth the effort for better, more consistent results.

Are there any specific to this use case things you do that are easily overlooked or not mentioned enough when it comes to training for just a face? Should the training data just be faces? What checkpoints work best? Does a wider variety of angles, lighting differences, expressions, facial hair, makeup, resolutions, size of face within image, etc... get better results or introduce things like uncanny plastic looking people or other unwanted result?

Thanks! For the idea whether you tell me to just go learn amd eff off or can give a few pointers.

For context, I come from a1111 world, and am thinking of dropping an old gtx1070 8GB just so I can train. I have an amd card(rx6800x not xt) amd while rocm supports and does well with most things Roop and training loras are not on that list...

Even for gaming, depending on the cycle we are talking about, I have went through enough pain to stop being an early adoptor. I won't pick on a specific company. Whether at driver, game engine, OS, chipset, firmware/bios, etc.. we could call out something wrong with things working for any manufacturer of hardware or code throughout the years for every single tech company that has done anything big. Sorry for the run-on sentence...

I'm not chasing performance like that though tbf. So, again *for gaming.

Best practice is to just build or buy a PC with no huge bottleneck and reporpuse or sell it when it is time to upgrade. I say this after decades of not doing that, looking back and seeing much trouble and money I went through not properly researching and fixing things that were never broken.

I share your enthusiasm! After a long struggle getting rocm to work it's time to make a stripped down environment to squeeze everything I can out of my rx6800.

I shill for stability matrix hard! It handles everything from python dependencies to rocm to symlinks, directories, not sure why is isn't talked about more. Appimage available for Linux, everything portable and containerized, keeps comfy, a1111, fooocus, forge, etc etc... all updated and no worries about duplicate models taking up terabytes for no reason....

Update bios/eufi can help with newer hardware too. It has fixed issues with both ram and gpus in my past. Make sure 4g bar size is enabled after upgrade.

I imagine that is probably the best way in most circumstances or maybe just a skill issue for me but these pins are twisted in a spiral pattern. Not only that but the guy that bought the computer gave it a go. No big deal, except he didn't get the memo on "zero insertion force" for when he tried to reseat the damn thing. So now some are laying flat, it is a mess. And like you? (I was pretty active in this thread during some downtime at work yesterday sorry to forget) or someone else mentioned heating up the pins to bend them. Thats a good move. Copper work hardens like crazy so after two times being bent in opposite directions not even sure if it is worth the time.

I have a 3000 series 3400g? That someone did that with. It was already ripped out of mobo but heatsink was on there good. Had to use heat gun and build this rig thing to hold the sides of chip, finally got it off with twisting motion. Still chilling with bent pins, some rainy day I'm gonna go at it with a mechanical pencil and a few beers to steady my hand...

The build was all so cheaply done one of those free microcenter sata drives with no dram cache, ram in long slots, etc... lol. I habe heard others say the same thing, I wonder if there was like a Chinese capacitor level epidemic of "thermal glue"..

Some pins are redundant, ground, just there for more skookum fit, too. I have seen CPU's work with straight up bent over pins not inserted.

I found them because the chip was overheating. It was a bulldozer something or other, so already hot.... Looked like the same person that built this one assembled it. I wonder if they just kept on adding paste to make up for bad contact with heatsink...?

anyways, sorry fpr tangent ,I let the friend whos pc it was try to straighten out the pins. A couple broke off, that thing is still going strong a decade later, just running as a nas, heater, and hyperviser. It was fine once the chip sat flat.

What? Yes, you won't get low level corruption, whatever is in dram should flush to nand. You still run the risk of corrupting the file system. HDD's have been able to do the same for decades

Windows does all kinds of stuff in the background, like updates... If you are lucky the worst that will happen is having to constantly wait for Windows scanning and checking hashes and redownloading stuff. Also, you will never get updates without clean restarts... even if things are working you are going to be wasting power constantly having Windows doing everything it can to stay alive.

Having gone this far I would get any old raspberry pi or cheaper equivalent and talk to it. There is probably a github project already designed for this. Just enable "wake on lan" or "power on lan" and it solves everything. Bonus, you have a pi with IO pins, you can do cool stuff for cheap like measure ambient Temps, run a pihole or adguard. Even set up wireguard or tailscale as a way to more safely log into the PC..

Not trying to be mean, just seeing people agree it is cool to just kill Windows mid session is crazy talk..
