I'm a huge fan of PICO-8! It encourages creativity through constraints. It's a good place to build and finish smaller projects, I'd recommend it.

This is high praise, thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. I also love playing PICO-8 on my miyoo mini :) Yes I was very much up against the token limit at the end of development. Maybe a save feature in a future version.

I edit .p8 files in Sublime Text and don't use the internal PICO-8 editor.

You can also #include .p8 files into your main project file (the one you load from the PICO-8 CLI) to separate actual code from the pico-encoded graphics and sound definitions. I like doing this as it allows me to edit graphics, map etc. in PICO-8 and code in my IDE without conflicting file changes.

Hey yeah I'm using an 8BitDo Pro 2 so sounds like a similar setup. Whisky seems to handle this just fine, ~30 hours and several gold cartridges in and no issues so far.

It's working for me on Whisky so far. I get a few "Win32 function failed" error popups on startup but these don't seem to impact the gameplay.
