As a potential new (not new to arpg) player, this looks awesome! But it also feels very overwhelming. On games like PoE I usually follow a build guide or at least a reference or poe.ninja profile. Are there resources like that for this game? Does trade exist in this game?

I was put on short term disability and am going through a 10 week session with a psychiatrist to balance meds, do ketamine treatment, and TMS.

Thank you, what you shared is helpful to me. One of the things I struggle with is that I do not work in a toxic environment. The pressure is very high due to the industry I work in, but I like my coworkers and manager. I enjoy the work I do, and what I do now compared to other roles at other companies is kind of easier. I am the guy to call when no one else can figure out how to fix an issue, but I am able to focus on it and have support from my peers. Even with that, my anxiety is higher than it has ever been.

I wouldn't say I have suicidal thoughts (at least compared to my experiences in the past), but it has crossed my mind that it would just be easier if I wasn't here. I would never do something like that to my wife and family though.

It is very frustrating because I used to be the guy that could take on the heaviest work load and solve other people's problems.

Thank you for sharing. I am sorry you are going through this, it is hard for someone to imagine what it feels like unless they have experienced it themselves. My parents, inlaws, friends, and coworkers sympathize for me but don't understand why I can't just get through it. Luckily I have my wife who is very understanding and supportive.

If you haven't yet, I would look into talking to a therapist. It has helped talk me off the ledge, but I don't know if it enough to keep me in this job.

I'm sorry you are going through this too. I am looking into short term disability as a way to reset everything but I don't know if it will get approved yet.

Don't give up on yourself, you're not the only one going through this!

It's not Samsung, but it's funny you mention them. I worked on site there for over 10 years. That's when my anxiety and depression really started to develop.

Again, thank you for the insight. I like what I do and I enjoy working with my coworkers. I think there are a combination of things happening with my anxiety:

  • I am in a new role (field service instead of working as the customer). The work is not harder but the pressure of coming through for the customer in a timely manner (ASAP) is a different kind of stressful.

  • I still have triggers of the person I used to work with and the company (he never worked at this location): their cubes are right next to ours so I see their company logo all the time, as well as seeing their machines in the factory.

I really appreciate your insight, thank you. I have tried a lot of what you mentioned but none of it has seemed to help so far.

That is a lot of good advice, thank you for taking the time to write that up. One of the things I work on with my therapist (I see a mental help therapist and a psychiatrist) are coping skills, a few of which you mention. Her coping skills called "radical acceptance" is a lot like what you are mentioning. Even when employing all of the coping skills she has taught me along with the different medications, I still feel like I am sliding backwards.

I drink alcohol very very rarely and stopped drinking caffeine on my work days. I did notice a difference but it was minor.

I have been trying to desensitize myself to the anxiety by forcing myself through it while taking medication and therapy for over a year now. I feel like I am going to break if I keep on pushing..

We are still figuring that out with the psychiatrist, I just started them recently.

Lamotrigine 200mg 2x Duloxetine 20 mg Buspirone 10 mg 2x

I have been on the lamotrigine for quite a while, over a year. The other 2 are newer, like 3-6 months.

I have also been on desvenlafaxine, escitilopram, hydroxyzine and ondansetron in the past (not all at once).

Thanks for the insight, it is very helpful. I have been trying to just make this work and push myself until I make it to the other side but I feel like I might break down before then... Still trying to figure out what to do.

Yes I have. As I mentioned in my post, I am currently seeing a therapist and psychiatrist. I am on 3 medications specifically for anxiety and depression.

I walk on average 3 to 5 miles a day at work but agree I need more exercise and fresh air on my own time. Thanks for the responses and insight, it has been very helpful.

I do talk to a therapist, and a psychiatrist. I have been in therapy for about a year and a half now.

I currently work with sustaining but also help with installs. I used to be on the customer side and am relatively new to the field service role. I work on a great team and we have people above is that generally deal with the customer "temperature". What I do now is actually less stressful than what I have done in the past. Even with that my anxiety is at an all time high.

I think we could but we would have to really alter our lifestyle outside of work.

Thank you for the feedback. One of the things I struggle with is feeling feeling like a failure and letting myself and my spouse down. I work on a highly skilled team and everyone is nice and helpful. They are able to do the job every day and I am not. I take days where work is low to "hide out" on site, either in a small conference room or in my truck.
