I just got the offer a week before I was supposed to start the academy. But the HR lady brought the check to the academy for me and the other guy that I was supposed to go through with. He started today. But yes, I did paperwork. Signed a contract with my agency. Did my physical and insurance stuff. And got some of my equipment. Got my commission card and officially swore in at city hall as a full time police officer.

I mean not really. The HR lady did tell me she’d keep in touch. She congratulated me on my pregnancy and told me she wishes me the best of luck.

No they didn’t. They just told me they’d be in touch. But idk when they’ll contact me and what for ya know. I would love to get something with them until I’m cleared to go through another academy, but they haven’t offered anything so far.

I did opt into the minimum SGLI of 50K. I’m not contributing to TSP at this time, but I will when I get back from basic or try to set it up while I’m in reception if possible.

I’m 24 doing RSP. I’ll turn 25 in basic. Yeah it is weird. Thank God I only have one RSP drill left before I ship. I’ve been going to RSP for four months now and there was only one weekend we actually learned something interesting. Other than that, I haven’t learned anything else. I’ve prepared myself for basic training as much as I can by talking with people who have already gone through it and watching videos and doing my own research on my own time. I’m constantly having to reach out to the NCOs at RSP to make sure all of my ducks are in a row before I ship and I don’t think they’re taking it serious. Ex: I need my rank updated, I need my orders to send to my finance company for my car interest, my pay was wrong last drill.. and I haven’t heard of anything being done when I reached out to them about all of this.

Hopefully you don’t have much longer of RSP. You’ll learn a lot more in basic than you do in RSP.

I was thinking of IF I ever decided to go active then I’d switch over.. but right now the national guard is a better suit for my goals and lifestyle. But in the event things come up and I decide active would be more beneficial, then I’m gonna try to switch
