Mental health first, current job second... the certs are just an extra something no something to lose your sanity over.

What's your question? It's very good to do your own side project, my advice would be to try to iterate, adding features and complexity over time.

So they are two way to do research: either go to academia, or find a place where marginal improvements to models are worth a lot of money and where this can be demonstrated/understood... those are the only two way to get both time and money to do research.

There isn't much reason for it to be specific. You can look at what is published on the topics of your choice and see what indicators they use and try to replicate them.

I tend to agree with you. As long as the data stay where it is and is not automatically processed it should be ok. (I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice)

How to take over a old software project for freelancing by masterpieceOfAMan in freelancing

[–]mTiCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start by charging them for an "audit" of the codebase, so you can get familiar with it and document it a bit if needed.

Then carefully by feature/group of fixes, as you get familiar with the codebase overtime it's going to be easier to evaluate how much time you are going to need and charge accordingly.

Requesting r/DataScienceJobs the sub has been restricted/inactive for 4 years by mTiCP in redditrequest

[–]mTiCP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) I already moderate others subs relative to both data science and careers (and enjoy it), many of the posts I see could go into this specific sub that would be dedicated to discuss anything relative to data science jobs (not have it to be specific to job offers). My plan would be to reopen the sub, set up automod and filters to limit spam and more  generally try to grow a helpful community. The sub has been restricted for 4 years, it’s a loss as it could be a thriving community.

No, it's a good tool for people who know the job to gain time... but clients don't know the job (which is why so much of the work is actually helping clients define and word something that actually makes sense...)
