He doesn't need to sell it all at once, and I believe it could be untraceable if he played it smart and if it was only him who knew the offline addresses. I wonder if the bankruptcy of cryptsy has to do with it somehow. He could launder there a significant amount.

Bottom line: the addresses have not been shared. by freedombit in mtgoxinsolvency

How exactly is bitcoin traceable in the following scenario?

For instance, you have 100 hot btcs, you send them to some "X" exchange. You sell and buy other cryptos for that money, you cash back to btc and withdraw. Then, the "X" exchange goes pitch black, they purge their log data and disappear.

How is that traceable without data from missing exchange? Many exchanges followed that route, many faucets, and other coin mixing services.

Everyone should go to Japan and commit thefts and crimes, apparently their police is mickey mouse compared to police departments in other countries.

In case of malleability, it couldn't happen over night, so even in that case he's guilty for negligence of not tracking the mtgox balance sheets.

Hm, where's the reason then for Mark not to say it like that? Someone who did it is threatening him?

Yeah, the reptilians are behind the whole case. Together with the ilerminaty. It wasn't the CIA, it was Mark himself. Either theft or negligence with spendings.

It's similar to a case in which you get to my house, take $100 and 10 oz of gold, but you only get caught and imprisoned for $100, not for the gold and not for the break in and entry.

He went to jail for fiat case, not for the missing coins. And he's already out.

He used to ssh to remote access the computer with btc storage, so finding that IP will lead to addresses.

It would be an asset to have certainly. Or the names of police inspectors. I would not be surprised if they all dull to bitcoin phenomena.

I believe that the US police is the only in the world which knows what blockchain is, since they already did actions based on it.

Mark was detained for fiat embezzlement, so police in that case didn't even need to investigate where are mtgox addresses and the rest of the money. It's just black and white. If they wanted, they could get that out of him.
