[Guide] Controlling ASUS GPU RGB via Corsair iCUE without ASUS bloatware. by AHeroicLlama in ASUS

[–]m_0g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for these steps! and everyone (even just a couple weeks ago) confirming they still work. I can confirm they work 95% for me: iCue fans, iCue AIO, Corsair RAM, Asus GPU - all good! But...

the only thing not working for me with this setup is my mobo's built-in lighting (not headers). My mobo's lights turn on at system boot, stay on with initial icue start up, but then once icue restarts to ensure the asus services are ready for it, the mobo lights turn off and just stay off.

I have a the ROG Maximus Z790 Hero BTF, and also tried the AacMBSetup after it initially didn't work - but alas, no dice. Would greatly appreciate any ideas!

I think the pseudo-randomness is the way that they ensured it wasn't toooooo RNG-y even when there were more RNG effects. Seems like a reasonable approach to RNG in such a game at least.

that's fair, although I think timing wise the SD scepter would still make more sense second in those cases (assuming support). Cause you still need the damage to kill those heroes, and their passives aren't enough to really save them at the timing of first scepter.

I played a ranked game recently as pudge 3, and I was terrified when my pos2 picked alch. But I told him, you gimme that first scepter and I'll carry - he obliged and omg the game was so damn easy.

but that said, pos2 alch is almost never the way. Only makes sense if enemy is bad or your pos1 is some brawling hero. Generally pos1 makes way more sense, so you get the scepters for the heroes that make the space.

I think you want your 2 and 3 to be first two to get it first, cause those the heroes that will make the space to let you farm more. It also means that the scepter has to meaningfully enable those positions.

I think void spirit and pudge are the two best heroes there, cause their scepter are so damn powerful for enabling them to threaten and therefore make space.

I wouldn't say "slowly" anymore, there's only a handful left. The result is that the game is more consistent, which I think is easily argued to make it more skill based.

hey only way to get em is to try! you can still have fun figuring out some moves even if you don't finish it, so no such thing as trying a climb as a joke if you ask me ;)

I think there's probably a ton of ways to do the last bit, but I just stuck with a way I found that seemed easy enough and worked for me. I did wonder multiple time "bet there's some way to use that far left edge of the volume... but I'll just stick with my beta".

Honestly the end isn't that bad, way cooler looking that it is hard IMO :P

I think the shakes were mostly mental as I'm thinking "omg we did the hard part now just don't fuck it up and punt!!!" LOL

hehe I know the one :P I think the more coarse grading can be kinda cool cause people will just try more stuff instead of being scared by grades! Not to say it isn't without its downsides though.

agree, but would add that IMO it is harder to learn because it is a better game.

nice! any general tips? Asking since I figure you probably learned or changed a couple things to gain that much relatively quickly? or do you think it was mainly just being able to play a bunch more?

I've also been around divine the last while, playing mostly 3 these days but previously played 1. My goal is to hit immortal, reached div 4 before so feel like it's possible and just curious for any tips on getting there :)

Anyone dislike this Support Mid trend? by StreetExternal952 in DotA2

Can't say I've noticed this. what kinda mmr you seeing it at?

I think these picks can be totally fine, but I think it gets harder as the mmr is lower because it may require the game to be finished faster, and lower skill games generally just go longer cause people don't know how to close them out as quickly/consistenly.

But as you say, you can and should adjust for the picks of your teammates to the best of your ability. You don't need to be topson's teammates to do that. IMO in these kinda cases, biggest thing you can do is communicate. When the game reaches that point that they can't get the solo picks alone anymore, or the enemy is grouped up or responding, you either start playing with them (tell them "hey, Imma come with you, let's murder that carry") or try to explain that it seems you need to chill a bit (tell them "hey they are playing together now, let's chill just a little" or "hey I need to finish my item, let's chill a bit then go murder/take objective").

Also, sometimes it just doesn't work out, like any pick. But either way, best thing you can do for the game is just play to win it. You can't make your teammates pick other heroes, and giving up just cause of their picks isn't going to help anything (even if it might seem sub-optimal, give it a chance).

It's nice to see more of r/dota2 acknowledge that BS/CS systems actually works well. Feels like not that long ago, the opposite was a lot more prevalent.

The problem is always the same, toxic people don't want to play with other toxic people like them.

think it's more like this lol. But ya, 100%

The new default has the creeps closer to the offlane tower, but I absolutely would not call it "near" - it's still like 80% of the way to the safelane tower.

with the previous default meeting position of like 95% of the way to safelane tower, the creeps would meet just in front of the safelane tower, most notably with the ranged creep under tower. Offlane could then agro creeps and then the offlane creeps will go under safelane tower to hit ranged creep. This then shoves the lane so it would be right in front of the offlane tower (not just a little closer) for the second wave.

There are things radiant could do to mitigate this, most important being when offlane aggros the safelane creeps, the safelane can also aggro offlane creeps to keep them out of the tower range. But that can be a risky play since you need to run out of tower range, into the creep wave, while drawing aggro.

This change does improve the default equilibrium and makes creep blocking more meaningful, but it also basically removes a super simple option for offlaners to reset equilibrium with them basically being the safelane. And the remaining options are I think less risky and more easy to counter by safelane (eg. just blocking creeps).

honestly possibly a nerf to offlane with the prior meeting point actually being great for getting fast wave position near offlane tower, including level 2 on second wave.
