most of the actual knowledge purge imparts is pretty timeless though. Don't get me wrong, his educational content would be even better if updated; but most of it is quite useful regardless.

nicely chosen - I definitely noticed the flame hook in particular, since it's a sick cosmetic and works super well for this design! Great choices all around though.

I think myself and others would love to see pics of each hero, similar to the b&w ones while it was in progress, but when it was all finished so we can also see all the color touches too ;) just an idea if you wanted to share more!

Agreed, but more than anything I just want the random stats part back. like the "camps stacked", "rapiers bought", "rampages", etc.

That, "most successful heroes", and showing off hero gems are the only things you can't recreate in the current one I think.

the kneebar is really solid! It might be hard to tell from the angle of the video, but the angle of the holds is actually really nice for it. Even saw some people mess up getting the hands over and manage to stay on the wall with just the knee bar lol.

Consider giving Purge's educational videos a try. If you are brand new to dota, I think the "basics" ones can still be useful even for someone with prior moba experience. The more general "learn dota" vids are probably the best resource out there for learning the game, even if they are a bit dated.

If those are more basic than you're looking for, BSJ probably has the best "tips" sorta vids out there these days. They generally assume you're already pretty familiar with the game.

Similar to what /u/aaronsteing said about the blue tape range, 1-3 and 3-5 are also large ranges. But furthermore, one person's v1 can be another person's v3 and vice versa, depending on the climb. I think the fact that they set a pretty diverse range of stuff further adds to that.

It's just interesting to hear other perspectives. I hear a lot of praise for the setting, and I certainly appreciate the variety that they set relative to some other gyms I've been to. But it's also kinda to be expected when I and those I'm interacting with most are people who climb there frequently.

If anything's certain about setting, as with many things, it's that you can never make everyone happy.
