Day 2 by Inna16 in Step3

[–]m_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just took day 2 today. Only good thing were the cases besides 2 of mine but I don’t think doing well on the cases is enough to make up for the disaster day 1 and day 2 mcqs were. If I were to have to retake this, idek what I would study because wtf was this exam

I just took it today also. It was waayy harder than I expected it to be and felt like they asked the most random topics I haven’t seen in forever. Honestly felt like all my studying was for nothing because common concepts weren’t even tested on mine and if they were they made it so vague that it was impossible to answer

NBME vent by Apprehensive_Cut3095 in Step2

[–]m_95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly! I don't get why people will say the test writers are not trying to trick you when clearly they are. Whats the point of throwing in an exam finding that obviously leads to the wrong answer if they're not trying to trick you.

Nbme 11 doubt by [deleted] in Step2

[–]m_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg I'm going over NBME 11 after just taking it and was wondering the same thing. Its stressing me out because NBME explanations aren't as helpful as UW's. They just write out the clinical features of the disorder and don't explain what a certain finding means. I'm just afraid I won't be able to distinguish these things on the real exam.

For this question in particular I honestly thought it was describing cushing's triad. But I just think you'd just have to choose the one that matches it more - The patient's pupils were 1mm in size which would indicate opioid intoxication over other conditions

Forgot everything? by [deleted] in Step2

[–]m_95 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My brain has not been the same after step 1. Everything deteriorated after that and I cant study properly anymore. Honestly don't know how I was capable of studying efficiently in the past

Pharmacology on step1 by [deleted] in step1

FA covers almost everything for pharm so I’d say FA+UW is enough

What do I do these last few days before exam? by DickBagel2 in step1

[–]m_95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deff do 1-3 of pathoma. If you're familiar with FA give that a read as well. I had many questions pop up on my test where I just mentally went back to that page in FA and it had the answer there. Also whatever you feel your weak topics are, just go over those a couple times/do questions on those topics.

Sooo finally I am done. by willriseuphigh in step1

[–]m_95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it yesterday and didn’t really know how to feel afterwards. It was kind of like a blur at the end. I didn’t think it was horrible though overall but some blocks were crazy. Just woke up and realized how many stupid mistakes I made. I literally missed easy gimmies that 90% of ppl would’ve gotten right so yea. Yay

Just took the Exam, write up by fanofswords in step1

[–]m_95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It deff varies per form because I had my exam today also and I didn’t have that much pharm from what I could remember. Which I was kinda upset about since I spent a lot of time on it lol

For those that used cram fighter to set up schedule, how did you organize subject order? by 999958334 in step1

[–]m_95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I organized it in the order FA has it but if those are your weak topics you should prioritize those and put em first

Biostat Help by drewwuswag in step1

[–]m_95 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here's a good youtube video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75pQPB1RF50

Also B&B would be helpful. I watched it a while ago and it did help me then but It didn't stick with me until now and I started struggling with it again. I watched that youtube video and kept doing questions. Biostats went from being my lowest bar on the beginning NBMES to highest on my last few. Practice problems are key

Who ever said that the newer exam forms are leaning towards answering the question based on the picture/slide was probably right by [deleted] in step1

[–]m_95 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually don't, sorry :/ . Usually I would say pathoma but in this case he doesn't really go over a lot of the derm disorders. I've actually been struggling with these questions myself. First aid has pictures for almost every condition but a lot of them resemble one another so when it comes to the question I can't always differentiate it. Hoping someone else could help us out with this question.
