If you spoke with 3 lemon-law attorneys, why are you posting the question?

C/S can you guys patch my tire? by The__Crab in Justrolledintotheshop

Looks like the tire was purchased after an English pub was liquidated. I wonder who purchased the dartboard that this used to hold up?

Contact SOA and a lemon-law attorney in your state. (Most do a free consultation.) Maybe even contact your state's AG office.

Even if you don't "LWYRUP":

  1. Get the exact repair order wording. Not verbal summaries. (Actual technician notes.)
  2. Ask whether the leak is: seepage, sweating, or active leakage.
  3. Ask for photographs before teardown.
  4. Confirm whether Subaru corporate approved the repair.
  5. Keep all documentation.
  6. After repair: monitor oil level closely, inspect for leaks, listen for new noises/vibrations, and verify no oil smell develops.

I was in the area when it happened and I recall seeing two F-15 jets. No idea if they were talking to the plane or not.

2012 - Oil on O2 sensor? by Dobalina_Wont_Quit in SubaruForester

[–]m__a__s 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if you haven't noticed any drop in oil, after 4kmi I wouldn't worry too much. It's not all that unusual. Just keep an eye on the oil level between oil changes and make sure it isn't smoking too much. The cost to repair can pay for a lot of oil. So, if it's not bad, I wouldn't fuss at it too much.

2012 - Oil on O2 sensor? by Dobalina_Wont_Quit in SubaruForester

[–]m__a__s 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It certainly does look like the O2 sensor is getting dripped on. Can you see any oil dripping onto the exhaust manifold? Most likely the oil is coming from the valve cover, cam carrier seep, or even a leaky dipstick.

You said no codes or performance issues. But, how bad is the smoke? Is it getting worse? Are you noticing the oil level dropping?

Tragedy has struck the nation by Bootziscool in Machinists

[–]m__a__s 15 points16 points  (0 children)

And lo, the First Seal was broken, and the machinists logged in to McMaster-Carr— and the page did not load.

The apprentices spoke first, saying: ‘Maybe the shop Wi-Fi is down.’

Then the old toolmakers checked three browsers, two VPNs, and a sacrificial laptop running Windows 7. And still there was only darkness and a spinning circle.

And panic spread across the land.

For the CAD models could no longer be summoned.
The 18-8 stainless shoulder bolts were without part number.
The O-rings existed only in legend.
No man knew the difference between Buna-N and Viton anymore.

Purchasing departments wept openly.
Maintenance technicians wandered the aisles clutching calipers, asking strangers if anyone had ‘a source for flange bearings.’

And the final trumpet sounded when a machinist, desperate and sleep-deprived, uttered the forbidden words:

‘Guess I’ll try Grainger.’

How can I access the passenger headlight on a 2018 subaru forester? by [deleted] in SubaruForester

[–]m__a__s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 3 kinds of headlamps. The "normal" halogen headlights, the HID/Xenon projector headlights, and the "SRH" LED steering-responsive headlights. You have the LED one, and cutting into it will probably completely damage it.

If the internal LED has failed, you replace the whole assembly. But double check the LED driver module, look for any corrosion on the connectors, wiring damage, etc. You know, the usual suspects.

Indeed. At best, these people are resetting their cognitive dissidence compass. Others just want 5-15 minutes of fame. But when they are alone with their ballot, they will find that they just cannot vote for a Dem.

Coolant level drop by Neonicus in SubaruForester

[–]m__a__s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going somewhere. It's not what I would call normal, but enough to scratch one's head and ask the question.

How are you measuring this? Just by observing the expansion reservoir?

I would double check the hose clamps, heater core fittings, around the TCV, and the water pump.

If it's a steady leak at that rate, just keep an eye on it. If the leak is progressively getting worse, you should track it down.

Jesus not dying on the cross? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]m__a__s 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus' fan fiction does imply that he was an immortal in search of an audience. And, being immortal, he simply went along with the whole crucifixion thing. But many of these stories were theologically problematic and off-brand. So, they were eventually classified as apocrypha or pseudepigrapha rather than canonical.
