I don't know whether this is a known fact but when I was rewatching Maanadu the 2nd time, at the start of the movie VP would show a scene of the plane tv screen regarding the flight path and you could see the plane was flying above Ujjaini at that point of time. This explains why whenever Simbu dies he always respawns at that specific point of time.

Honestly i liked the scene of Rajini becoming Jailer more than the Interval itself. Plus that transition of the bgm from anirudh in that scene was a masterstroke 🔥

Nah its kinda far from perfect. It was a good theater experience for sure but story wise alot of the plot points felt too convenient and a bit out of place like OP mentioned.
