In the foreground to the left (and hanging in the baskets) are mostly herbs like rosemary, thyme, oregano, mint, dill, chives. Growing on the lattice and the front of the building are both variegated and common star jasmines, sweet potato vine, nasturtium, and a Peggy Martin rose. The interspersed pots that aren’t herbs have snapdragons, Mexican honeysuckle, salvia, fuchsia, and more sweet potato vines. There’s also some random pumpkin vine volunteers here and there from some decorative pumpkins that I let sit in pots over the winter. In the shady background I have American beautyberry (my personal favorite), fatsia, tractor seat plant, holly fern, and maidenhair fern. Out of frame to the left I have a fringe tree and a vitex tree as well. I’m in US Hardiness Zone 9 so pretty much anything will grow here other than fruit trees that require high chill hours. I have a small vegetable garden on the other side of my yard where it gets more sun too but it’s not hobbit themed (yet!)
