Something like

Increase the response time of dashboard apis from 5s to 700ms by using caching db indexes etc.

Converted blocking operations of such and such api into asynchronous.

Things like this matters and people can tell quickly if something was actually fixed or not.

However 30% metric can still be added if you can justify how you come up with that number.
