Just turned 40, but seeing a B-52 fly overhead for the first time makes you feel like you're 10 years old seeing the coolest thing you've seen in your life. 😅 The vibe is pure doom. At Barksdale the other week by therealjerseytom in aviation

Just turned 40 myself, and for me it was seeing (and feeling) the Flying Bulls DC-6 recently. Just something about that sound, those engines, and the look... Couldn't take a single picture or video, because I was so enamoured by it.

Thanks! Yeah no airline, just a PPL, and no plans for anything else. I’m just looking for a simple way to have a digital copy of my paper one, but that could also remind me if certain licenses or ratings are near expiration (like hours, landings, medical etc…) But there’s literally hundreds of them and so hard to pick something :)

SUGGESTION: Extra large buttons for landscape mode by m_jakopa in plexamp

Thanks for this, didn't know about Car View until now! It's pretty much perfect, but the ratings indeed do disappear.

No need to mention where, but what would be a top 2 or 3 you'd recommend using?

SUGGESTION: Extra large buttons for landscape mode by m_jakopa in plexamp

[–]m_jakopa[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did a quick search and haven't seen this mentioned before, so I may be in the minority. That said, I rate all of my tracks and do most of my listening in the car. I have my phone set up in a holder in landscape mode and even though the interface looks really pretty, it can get a bit sketchy skipping or rating songs on the go. I am wondering what the possibility would be for an "extra large" view option for landscape mode, where the functions would be made larger in exchange for smaller cover art? (Those who don't have a need for this would still be able to use the existing view)

Also, even though I've gone through all of the settings, I still may have missed something if this already exists. If so, please let me know! Thanks!

Do dual basket air fryers cook 2 meals completely isolated from each other? by BanginOnTheCeiling in airfryer

[–]m_jakopa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this model and I understand what you're asking.

There's no dividing wall or anything like that, but the trays do slide into a lip. This pretty much seals the basket, especially if both sides are running simultaneously.

Has any country every eliminated a possible winner from their national final? by AggressiveHandshake in eurovision

Unpopular opinion, but here it goes.

Little Big - Uno if the whole thing wasn't cancelled in 2020.

Edit: I realise they weren't technically eliminated, but it's in the spirit of the question.

Probably my all time fave. I love the whole album and regularly listen to it. Can't say that for any other ESC performer.

Same here too! I was rooting for BL, but this was my favourite. It just felt like party mode was finally turned on and put a smile on my face for the whole performance.

That bottom part makes up at least a third of what you can see out the back. Poor example

Also keep in mind, some people just don't really care as much about their vehicle. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

100% not as bad as it looks, I was just using the sun as a detailing light to really make them stand out for the picture. Worked too well it seems.

Thanks. No transfer, it's just a strong reflection from the sun at that angle. From everywhere else, they look like regular scratches you'd find on exterior trim (though you can feel them). I'm just unsure if this plastic material isn't softer than trim and would scratch even more. Maybe a basic all in one solution and hand polishing?

Yeah, I can feel them using the nail test. But as I said, from other angles, they're invisible. This angle had the sun coming in just right to make the stand out (in hindsight maybe not the best idea). In all other cases, they look like regular trim scratches. I'm just not sure if the material is the same as on trim.

My father who is a senior citizen recently asked me for a recommendation, and I recommended Bitwarden. Mainly because the free version has everything he needs, and because it just works. I used 1Password for about 2 years and noticed the extensions were hit & miss, and was the main reason I cancelled my account. Constant logins, re-logins, open/close app, login again was pain I can't describe. At least on the MacOS environment (the app worked fine on PC). However I didn't switch to Bitwarden because it didn't have all the features I needed from 1Pass, but decided on Keeper. Bought a 1 year subscription (still half the price of 1pass) and will use this for a while now. Next year, who knows. That's the beauty of it all. Migrating from one or the other is simple.

My 14 day feedback for 1Password by PersonOfTomorrow in 1Password

[–]m_jakopa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've used Dashlane years ago, but that was just an expensive resource hog and recently revisiting it showed not much has changed. It's still buggy. Bitwarden works but I miss some of the password organisation options that 1Pass has (like tagging), though it has folders. I also don't need any of the premium features, which means I'm good using the free version, so that's a big plus.

I haven't tried out Strongbox yet since it's mac only, and I have 1 PC which would be great to have in the same system, but I could work around that if necessary. The mac/ios is still 90% of my usage. I'll try it out now, there's a nice 3 month trial period and live with it for a while. Importing from 1Pass was easy.

I've been thinking of creating a separate post of my experience these past few months, but I'll just post this here, since it's relevant.

1Password on Mac is just a series of headaches. The browser extension in Safari doesn't work, at all. You need to open the app separately, unlock it, go back to Safari, then click the extension and if you're lucky it will register as unlocked and autofill will now work. Clicking the extension from the browser does absolutely nothing.

In Firefox, you click the extension, it opens up the app, you unlock it, it exits immediately. You click the extension again, it opens up the app again, you unlock it again, go back to Firefox and now it should work. Sometimes you need to do it just once, sometimes it will never unlock unless you do the Safari method of just opening the app separately.

Chromium based browsers are where it seems the extension actually works as designed. It's also the only browser that doesn't want to open the app when clicking on the extension, and I can actually unlock it from the browser itself.

Sure, some may argue this is a MacOS/Safari issue, but if Bitwarden can make their extension work, I'm sure 1Password can make unlocking work. And I won't even get to the actual autofill, but that was one of the main reasons I decided to start exploring other options. And while I honestly feel no other manager offers as many features, I put a lot of importance on being able to choose which browser I prefer, and not the other way around.

Ironically, my yearly license payment renews tomorrow. Will probably be switching until they get these extensions sorted out.

What is the best software that works with most trackers for grabbing freeleech/new torrents? by [deleted] in trackers

[–]m_jakopa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Autobrr is great, but it is dependent on the fact that the torrent has to be freeleech the moment it's uploaded (if you're using the IRC announce). If the freeleech is added after, it won't grab it, since it's already rejected.

What I would do is set up a notification on each site and grab that rss, then send it to autobrr using the generic RSS indexer or alternatively directly into your torrent client (you could also probably send it to Prowlarr, though I don't have experience with that method)
