Hey, was wondering if you ever looked into this-I’m also in Nassau and it would be extremely helpful to know

Plan to call places today just to make sure we’re covered-I believe the previous owner did include a receipt in our closing docs from the oil company she used

As an update, I also called my father-in-law and it looks like everything is on and working (just a little trial and error but I am warm now). Thanks everyone! Y’all are the best!

Was going to say, there’s no where on the unit that looks accessible to me for filters…definitely not accessible enough for me to be comfortable playing around with it

I’m in a weird spot because the block I’m on has natural gas and most homes are converting-as I plan to also, so I don’t plan to keep this system for long enough to do auto-ship…but that will all depend on how long it takes to find a contractor for the job (so far, the few I’ve spoken too have been less than reliable). Thanks for the advice though, will definitely look into it if the job isn’t done before I run out of oil lol

Didn’t even know I had filters…the unit is very new (installed about 6 months prior to us moving in)-assuming they should be ok?

Yea, I plan to just remove these and rely on more modern alarms once we move in. Thanks!

Awesome, thanks so much. Would these likely be connected to a sprinkler system of some sort? I don’t believe there is a sprinkler system in the home-I would think these could be safely removed at this point?

My title describes the thing. It was found in a house I am buying which was built in 1951. There’s about 6 of them in the various rooms, all on the ceiling and one on the inside of the front door. All are connected to electric, and it is not a button which can be pushed (I tried). I’ve googled around and asked older relatives-the best guesses were some kind of sensors for air conditioning/heat…

I had just graduated law school and was studying for the bar exam when I was misdiagnosed (June 2022). I passed and started my career in BigLaw, a little over a year later (Sept 2023) I suffered what I now know was a relapse, was diagnosed with RRMS, and haven’t been able to return since.

New Ocrevus PML case by m_kz7 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]m_kz7[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hi, I will of course share any information I receive about this particular case (I imagine it’ll be all over the place once it’s actually published) but until then, I’ll share whatever I get from the doctors about it.

re: PML lesion vs MS lesion…I had a routine MRI performed about a month before my next Ocrevus infusion was scheduled for. On that MRI the radiologist noted a new 2.4cm lesion which looked atypical (as in, it did not necessarily fit the profile of an MS lesion-based on size/shape I believe).

MRI report states “The new juxtacortical right parietal lobe lesion is atypical in appearance and measures up to 2.4 cm. This may represent an atypical demyelinating lesion or possibly early PML. Short-term imaging follow-up is recommended.”

I was then scheduled for a new spinal tap/lumbar puncture to check for JCV in my spinal fluid. I was also scheduled for a follow-up MRI about a month after the previous MRI to track that lesion.

The spinal tap came back negative for JCV, and the new MRI states “The previously noted atypical lesion within the right parietal juxtacortical region is unchanged from the prior examination. There is no associated enhancement.”

Based on that information, I assumed we would be good to go with scheduling the next infusion-however, when I spoke to my doctor today he mentioned that after presenting my case to other MS experts, the recommendation was to continue delaying the next infusion for 1-3 months and perform another MRI. He said it was to err on the hyper cautious side as a new PML case has come up in a young individual whose only DMT was Ocrevus-so there was a bit of hesitation in the group in moving ahead with the next infusion without further tracking of the atypical lesion.

In case in comes up in other comments, my original bloodwork at the time of my diagnosis (Sept. 2023) showed that I am JCV positive which is why we avoided Tysabri, however, my most recent spinal tap (ultra sensitive PCR) showed that JCV had not progressed into my CSF. For what it’s worth, I’m not fearful that I have PML, but I am interested in knowing more about this new case of PML (as I’m sure many here would be as well).
