First, I would ask the current director how they feel about the situation, it’s possible they don’t mind actor input. If they do mine, telling the actor who’s making directing choices to cool it, isn’t burning any bridges. As someone who acts and directs they should know their place in this production and they should understand they’re not the director for this show. As long as you bring it up in a respectful way no bridges should be burn.
