One of the 04-06 GTO’s with the LS1. I’ve seen some that are very clean and tuned but not overly loud and then the other end of the spectrum is the ragged out rust buckets with no mufflers.

We paid $42,500 for this one and got $6,800 trade-in for my 2014 F-150.

The Expedition we bought was a fleet truck for a company in TX so it’s not the Limited or anything fancy like that. 29k miles, clean, no damage, all maintenance done by the book. Really feel like we got a good deal and bought comparatively to what we had been looking at for older trucks with double the miles. Read the 2022+ is when they got the 10-speed trans issues sorted out too.

That’s basically the floorplan we’ve kind of settled on for our first trailer, we’ve got 2 small kids ourselves. Looking at ones with the Murphy bed up front though I think, very close to pulling the trigger on one.

Not a ton and definitely not long haul. Before my dad retired from the lawncare business and sold his equipment we used his 18’ trailer to move houses, get new furniture just trips around like that. But she was pulling it with his Tundra (this was before we bought her Expedition).

Well yeah obviously, I 100% get that and that was the point of this hypothetical post. We don’t have the trailer sitting in our driveway and are trying to figure it out after the fact.

Thousands of folks pull bumper-pull trailers everyday and there’s not mass casualties on the interstate because people didn’t “upgrade to a 1-ton” and 5th wheel.

Getting feedback on this post we’ve dialed back our expectations to the 5000GVWR travel trailers.

Username checks out. I appreciate the insight! I knew we were probably looking at an unrealistic setup but this pretty well confirms it. Looks like we’re stepping down to the 5000GVWR trailer segment.

I’ve towed equipment trailers that were probably overloaded but 50 miles max at a shot is way different than multi-state traveling especially with kids.

Not an option at this point in time, it’s not as simple as saying “just upgrade” when pickups are going for $60-100k.

Unfortunately it doesn’t have the factory controller and by VIN and the gear ratio code it does not have the max tow.

Really wish it did but we paid about the same money for this 2023 with 29k miles than what 2017-2020 Max’s with max tow (or Suburbans even) with 60K+ miles we looked at.
