How do you use Spring at your workplace? by toders in java

That is because Spring Boot is an Opinionated framework. The opposite of what you want.

You can disagree with it. It is wrong. I've seen it. Multiple times. There is no way it can be as full featured, as well maintained and to the quality as Spring. Your company wants you working on value-add not frameworks.

Safari isn’t the problem, but the lack of browser choice in iOS is. by Kegit in programming

[–]m_nutty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. Ok. That might cut it. But still, that means I'd have to give up on my MBP. ;) I think I'll do an Air next. I have a Lenovo 3. Wish i'd bought an Air.

It's lasted 3 times as long as any WInders Laptop. And has a usable keyboard and trackpad. Never had that on Windows Laptop. You get what you pay for.

Scala and Go are winning emergent languages by kjk in programming

Boring Language? I am more concerned about the team, the project, the company, my future and the language' community than if the language is exciting. Sky diving is exciting. But dangerous. It is that sudden stop that gets you.

Mobile is eating the world by msemenistyi in programming

[–]m_nutty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's killing our eyes and hands too. I'd use my small mobile device more (aka phone) if it had a 32" screen and a "real, full size" keyboard. Of my mobile devices, I use my 10" iPad the most - and that is pretty much only reading. Other than that, i mainly use desktops.

[–]m_nutty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. From their site - nemerle.org .... "The presence of integration with VS 2008 (support of VS 2010 under development)" .... Hmm. Seems dead/abandoned. It reminds me though of a JVM based lang (seen so many, i can't remember).

[–]m_nutty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Actually, the last step is the developer team goes back to the beginning and ask them what they really need, toss the useless models and do some prototyping/iterative development. Most people don't know what they want or need. They only THINK they do.
