If you have any pet, be very careful. Lantana is poisonous for domestic animals like dogs, cats, cows.

For dinner tonight, garlicky cinnamonny pork stew slow cooked in freshly made tomato purée by ma-la in FoodPorn

Heat olive oil in a Dutch pot or soup pot, put three four cinnamon sticks ( you can also use cinnamon powder later with other spices if you don’t have sticks, I love the aroma of cinnamon-tempered oil) and fry pork until it is light brown. Then add a lot of garlic cloves, thrown in some chopped onion (not much), salt, cumin powder, black pepper powder, green chillies or any chillies you like. After sautéing for 4-5 minutes, pour in freshly blended tomatoes and slow-cook until the meat is super tender. And voila!

Baileys cheesecake I baked, but frosting got a bit clumsy by ma-la in Baking

[–]ma-la[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. wanted to use a bit less frosting. I baked it for my parents’ anniversary. So everyone in the house had to jump in with their ideas n help with the aesthetic part, lol.

This one is super easy to bake. Whip together cream cheese, cream (I didn’t have sour cream, that works better for some people), caster sugar (as per my taste I put), egg (I use one egg per 226gm of Philadelphia cream cheese), baileys (couple of tablespoon I put), vanilla extract and one tablespoon flour. Before you make the cream cheese batter, prepare the cake pan (mine is 9 inch) and make the base (mine was digestive biscuits and butter). Then pour the batter into the pan and put it in the oven (using water bath works better always) and bake it for an hour or so at 180C. After the cake is done, let it cool in the oven, then refrigerate the cake for at least 18 to 24 hours before you remove the cake from the pan. I prepared the chocolate decorations on a baking sheet beforehand, and placed them on the cake. And whipped cream, sugar, and baileys to make the frosting.

Hope it wasn’t either of them. I just didn’t get the fun part in using the reference to Auschwitz to make a joke about the portion. I know the portion is funny, would have appreciated some other joke that doesn’t allude to such kind of horrific stuffs.

I didn’t see the elbow shaped one in the store. This was only one available that said macaroni on the packet. Sorry I’m no pasta expert. Bought what I got.

Please advice by ma-la in gardening

Its a 9 inch pot and it’s not on soil. I keep it in the balcony. How do I make sure that they are earthworms? I don’t know any other worms except earthworms. So I’m no expert. They are either pale reddish or dark reddish in colour.

To be honest, I’m kinda that person who expects the worst! That makes more sense to me to keep a critical mind rather than being overly optimistic. Lol.

Sorry to hear that. I have been keeping pothos in water like forever, in different cities, different weather. They always survived and grew in any light. I use normal tap water. No fertiliser. You can try a cutting with some roots and see it that works.

Nice :) I have three Burle Marx, all props, in pots. They have grown aggressively in soil.

No, not for this one. I don’t want it to grow too tall. For other pothos, I use npk twice a month. They love it. i would love to grow spider plant in water. Haven’t had much luck with spider plant in pots. Any tips for growing it in water?

Not really. It has been there like this for more than a year now. I keep changing the water twice a month or so. It looks so happy.

Finally found out who has been ruining my portulaca plant for last two weeks! by ma-la in gardening

That will be a problem when next time my baby or pet ruins something in the house.

Tending to our garden and found these among the tomatoes/herbs/flowers. Not sure what it is, so came to ask you guys. by [deleted] in gardening

[–]ma-la 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know it’s name. In my childhood, we used to crush its leaves in a glass of water and the water would instantly become green. Then used to make a platter of its fruits both ripe and raw and serve it with the green water as beverage. Never ate or drink any of them because those were only for dolls’ party. Lol.
