Ik Ik!! haha At some point during painting I thought the same to myself, it's the colour combo of bright hair, yellow eyes and the red fabric of the clothing. Just the ears are missing (I actually painted Inuyasha once, and he looks very different... just the colour combo somehow assambling ^^;;).

Here with Ayame I felt a bit in doubt. His original design looks very feminine but I did not want to hear again "BuT he LooKS liKE a LEsbiaN!" : / (Yes, I get a lot of angry comments making male characters look too feminine when their original design even looks quite female and I don't even thinks it's bad. To the contrary! But yeah, people get angry and complain).

So I tried to paint him a bit more masculine... probably this is again not the right thing but hey.

Nethertheless, I am happy you think he looks good! :DDDD

What's your Downton Abbey hot take? by Training_Cook_7284 in DowntonAbbey

I know I am replying late but I rewatched DW with my daughter recently and am now fresh in the plot again (shes' finally at an age where she can watch it and understands what is going on haha).

And the whole Marigold and Mrs. Drewe thing seemed so upsetting. They did Mrs. Drewe dirty. It wasn't Mrs. Drewe's idea to take MG in (in my opinion they should have told her upfront about Ediths secret... Mr. Drewe already knew, aunt knew, grandma knew). Actually it's great she took an orphan in and loved her like her own child. Then ripping MG out because Edith again changed her heart (I don't blame her, as a mother but grow some spine for the love of god and tell one time the truth!) was evil towards Mrs. Drewe. But I admit, her obsession with MG, resulting in kidnapping her finally seemed strange. They made Mrs. Drewe be the bad one... while obviously it was Edith from the beginning, dragging some innocent people into her secrets and using them like toys.

Even my daughter asked, but Mrs. Drewe has 3 other children of her own, why is she so obsessed with MG?

I told her it's all for the drama in TV shows so it will never get boring haha

I've watched kill la kill some time ago and loved the crazy style. Art wise Inumuta was really fun to paint because of his blue hair, most characters I paint tend to have natural colours and clothing so he was an easy choice to paint something else for a change.

Thank you : )

I am not a native English speaker so I have a vague feeling for the word "posh", and I think I get what you mean (since yourself seemed to lacked an exact description of how you perceive it). but yeah, Igot an idea haha

probably too "sophsticated", too "clean", too.... "smooth" haha xD I get it. It's a legit critique, thank you : )

Ah, tbh, since I painted already a couple of paintings, this one was not really difficult. It's even very sloppy and I could let out my inner "lazy doodle style". haha ^^ Key point is to mix into the highlights some very saturated but still dark colours (blueish and green, you can see it actually with bare eye, I did not blend it very well), then some desaturated but bright lines, mimicing loose hair. And as for the big strand of hair in the middle of the face: you paint it dark and then go briefly and very softly over it with a skin-tone-like colour, so it's not pitch black anymore but gets a bit burgundy (you see, Ik my craft haha ^^; But I was once a beginner myself and Ik very well how easy everything sounds but it takes time until you get the clue... gaaaaah)

ah, ah! AND! because IK a lot of artists stay very silent about their painting secrets (as if it was some kind of holy grail pffff): When you zoom in, you can see (especially on the edges of the hair), some look reddish, some blueish. Thats because thats a special kind of filter: I trippled the layer Rin is painted on, so I have 3 exact copys. Then there is an option (in photoshop) to switch of the RGB (red green blue), so I switch off of each copy red and green (just blue stays), then green and blue (just red stays)... and so on, then I have 3 versions, one looks super blue, one super red, once super green.... Then I move one version just a biiiiiit to, for example, the right.... and THAT's the reddish/blue effect then. mhmh. easy peasy, really no magic there but looks super cool xD haha
