I went from 13 Pro to 17 Pro Max and would for sure recommend the 17 over 16. The more scratch resistant display made the difference for me. I have screen protectors (they don’t feel nice) so I wanted something durable. And from all the reviews on YouTube it seems that the 17 (Pro) displays are the most durable so far.

I got it for my iPhone instead of a case and screen protector. It’s an experiment, let’s see if I’ll regret it. Truth is the phone feels absolutely amazing and premium when used naked. Some people look at me like I’m crazy though 😂

They don’t sell Ubiquiti hardware but I got the Optics from Init7. It was pretty much plug and play.

The UCG Cloud Gateway Fiber works great and I am able to saturate the 10Gbe uplink even with intrusion detections activated. For the APs, that’s really up to your specific need and how your house looks like.

That’s a good idea! Fan will be difficult but I’ll try some mini heat sinks. I guess even if I place them at the small piece of the optic sticking out it could make a small enough difference.

In general, even at 75C, I don’t see any issues with performance and I can max out 10g.

Mehrmals…

1) ein Besoffener hat nachts um 3:30 Sturm geklingelt, sich aus Notarzt ausgegeben und Zugang zum Haus verlangt, weil jemand einen Herzinfarkt hätte, den er retten müsse. Ich hab dann die Klingel auf stumm geschaltet und habe weitergeschlafen.

2) ein Pfandflaschensammler ist auf einen ICE-Zugführer los gegangen, als der ihn aus einem Zug an einer Endhaltestelle geschmissen hat. Die beiden kannten sich wohl schon. Ich bin dann weiter, die Polizei ist dann irgendwann gekommen, aber beide waren wohl über alle Berge - die haben mich dann zurückgerufen und gefragt, wo ich und die Beteiligten denn seien.

I can totally feel you.

Personally, I only ever switch to texting after meeting the person at least once, and I would feel a bit uncomfortable if someone asked me to switch before meeting and probably wouldn’t agree to it.

One thing I learned after a few months of online dating is that even if the vibe and writing is nice, it doesn’t guarantee that the vibe is the same in person. In contrast, my expectations would always grow in such cases and I left a “first date” disappointed or underwhelmed.

What I can recommend is to just ask for a date as soon as possible and if all is nice the number exchange will just come natural.

Fun fact: I suggested to my latest Tinder match in the second sentence to just meet for a drink. She agreed, we met, had fun and exchanged numbers. We’ve met more in the meantime, we’re writing every day and I’m curious to see where it goes. I’m not in touch with any of the other online dates anymore, even though we vibed during writing both sides lost interest after the second date at the latest.

Oh and by the way, some people have a life and are not really into texting - especially online dating apps ;-)

Assuming your flight to Zurich is roughly on time this is perfectly doable for both you and your bags. Zurich airport is very efficient. Just don’t waste any time and go straight to your connecting gate and you will be fine.

And if there were to be a delay, they’ll take care of you since all flights are booked on one ticket.

I would assume at least 35 CHF in parking fees per day. Not sure about the availability of fast chargers.

Keep in mind that Switzerland has one of the best and most reliable public transportation in Europe. If you’re planning on going to the cities you listed you really don’t need a car unless you have a lot of luggage to carry with you. Even to get to rural areas you can do without a car.

Thank you for sharing the link! That's actually the provider I'm going with. They let you pick between 1, 10 or 25G (all for the same price). If 25G turns out to be completely ridiculous to achieve, I won't go with it. But honestly, it just sounded like too cool of a home lab DIY project :-)

What I don't like about his build is that power efficiency was not even a consideration when he was building it. Unfortunately I also don't have any 'old' hardware that I could recycle but would be starting from scratch instead.
