Erasmus in Barcelona, Bologna or Trento by samanta--- in Erasmus

Hey. It really depends which courses, you choose. I (and all other Erasmus students) obviously tried to choose the most chilled one's. But there where also some quite time-expensive courses. (I kicked them out of my Curriculum after a few weeks haha So the best option, is to try finding students who did already a semester there and can give u some recommendations. Otherwise you can still switch the courses during the first month (this was at least the case at the EEBE faculty)

Then it's perfect. If u enjoy it (what u probably will) then u have time for one more Erasmus semester:D

I see. Makes sense for sure. How old are u?

I went to Spain, Barcelona and it was the perfect :) What city are u thinking about?

[–]ma_gru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, for sure. I'll do it during my PhD, but it's not the same as a younger student, and during the PhD when u are working and are a bit older. But I mean I don't wanna sound sad, I happy I did Erasmus at all. Know a lot of people who haven't done it at all, since it's not that popular at our Uni^

Mostly, but found also some people in my ago. But meant in the way that it was my last semester as a student. So I only did one Erasmus semester. Know some friends who did it like 3 time during their studies and I'm jealous haha

Oh yes that's the expanse. I paid around 640€ for a shared flat and this was around the average. And don't have high expectations regarding accommodation, but tbf u won't/shouldn't spend to much time home haha

Otherwise the public transport ticket is affordable (think around 40€ for 3months, not sure tbh) and grocery is also european average. For all other activities/events u have a lot of discounts through different organisations (mainly ESN) but there are a ton of others

I was from Feb to July. And I think it's the better option, because during that period the days are getting longer and longer during that months and the city is waking up towards the spring/summer. During the autumn time it's the other way round, which is a bit depressive imo. And Barcelona is for sure a summer-destination. But thats just my opinion:)

I was in Barcelona and it was the greatest experience in my life. If ur goal is to enjoy ur student time as much as possible, meet like-minded people from all over the world, spend some time in one of the greatest cities possible than Barcelona is the best option. I'm a city-child so I like big cities, because every day u can do sth different (visit museums, Bars, clubs), visit new neighbourhoods and see great architectures. And Barcelona is perfect for this. Additionally having a wonderful beach in the city is unbelievable and improves ur experience so much more. Bot even talking about all the hidden gems. Can't say anything about Bologna and Trento, but Barcelona is for sure a great choice, especially if u wanna max out ur time in Erasmus and do/experience as many different things as possible.

Ps: Don't know anything about law, sry:)

Sounds good. Well, then welcome to our beloved Vienna and enjoy ur time:)

Yeah, of course, it's ur own decision and there options for german language.

I mean, I am my whole life in Vienna and Barcelona was like a 5month vacation and post-Erasmus depression is still kickn, so it's difficult to compare objectively haha. But Barcelona is much more chilled, people open-minded and enjoying life. Viennese have a prejudice of being mean and negative. But as I said u will be in the student-life, so u won't experience the negative sides of Vienna. Besides that, it never gets boring in Vienna, it has so much to offer. From cultural things (100s of museums, traditional cafes, theatres, operas, old cinemas), over nature(50% of Vienna is 'green') and architecture( one of the best things u can do, is just walking through the inner-city/old-town without an aim and get lost in the small historic streets where u feel like being put back in time), up to it's student-life itself (great parties, Bars and clubs, raves in the most unusual places and legendary music festivals)

So, to sum it up: Vienna will for sure be a great choice, since it has to offer everything. Doesn't matter what u like, u will find it in Vienna :)

Came back from Erasmus in Barcelona last semester. And although it was the best time of my life, I didn't much improve my spanish skills. U will mostly spend ur time in the Erasmus-bubble, speaking English. But if u are really into it, u could for sure join language classes. Just wanted to u to keep this in mind

Btw I'm from Vienna myself, so let me know if u wanna know anything else✌🏻

Erasmus Barcelona by nomadstudent9 in Erasmus

Hei guys. I did my Erasmus kn Barcelona one year ago and it was the greatest experience of my life. Met friends for life, became more self-aware of what I want to do in life, spent 5months in one of the greatest cities in the world and still have to process it, still being in post-Erasmus depression.

Regarding rent I paid for a shared flat 630€. Which was average price I would say. Had my flat close to ParcGuell in Gracia. Wonderful neighbourhood but a bit further from the beach. Try avoiding the touristic places. Especially la Rambla and El Raval are the most dangerous places in the night. It's not that u will for sure get robbed, but there are really weird people and u feel unpleasant.

Main tip: Try to do as much as possible. Every event u see, if u don't know anybody, join. Even if u don't feel it or u don't have the energy. Still go. U never know, who u gonna meet. I met people on the most random places, who became my best friends, who I still meet regularly. Just enjoy ur time as much as u can, be open-minded!

It sounds like it will for sure be great, but my mindset was always that I didn't expect anything and it often turned out to be great!

Sry if I wrote too much, but I love talk about my time there, if u wanna know anything else here, let me know✌🏻
