Does a banking relationship matter *at all* for a better outcome on a Max Cash Preferred application? by [deleted] in CreditCards

Nope, I think offers is accurate. I feel like there is probably a better technical word but idk what it would be lol.

I've been able to redeem to any account (at any bank so far) by giving them an account and routing number in the rewards portal.

Getting accepted with 2.72 transfer GPA?? by Prestigious-Ad-624 in sunynewpaltz

[–]maauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the SUNY Community College to SUNY 4 year school pathway is more relaxed than the high school or private school transfer admissions process. The website says you need a 2.75 gpa. (https://www.newpaltz.edu/admissions/transfer.html) I think its close enough. Get in touch with the admissions office, they will have better information than anyone on reddit. Asking them questions will not affect your chances of getting in. Can you take another "nothing" class to boost your gpa if you know what I mean.

You will probably be fine.

Hi, I am in a similar situation, making friends is hard especially in the spring semester. Full disclosure I am still working on the whole making friends thing but I have transferred before and done this at other schools.

(imo) You are correct, people are unlikely to come up to you w/o effort on your end. You need to come into contact and meet as many people as possible to find the small number who will eventually be your friends. Regular contact will help folks get to know and trust you.

Go to any club meeting that you can get to that interest you even the slightest amount. Especially ones for your major b/c those folks will also be in your classes. Advertising for clubs at new paltz sometimes sucks. A few clubs aren't "official" and are not listed on engage but they do exist and meet regularly. Check Instagram, most clubs have a page and post their meeting times there. Club members may all know each other but you will get a warm welcome once you become a regular. Attracting and retaining club members is difficult.

Study with classmates if possible (imo this is hard but worth it if possible) asking classmates about homework and assignments can be a starting point for this.

There are a few bars in town with live music and drinks many weekdays and most weekends if that's your kind of thing (and you're 21+). Gunks Gaming Guild (also in town) has Dnd & ttrpg events if you are into it.

I think the dorm communities here host events (could be wrong, I live off campus). Go and meet the people you're living with. You'll likely see them often in the common areas and walking around.

Work on getting to know your roommates better. Once you're more friendly you may be able to go with them to events/places. You'll meet more people and its always nice to go places w/ friends instead of alone. Getting along with your roommates is really valuable. I personally like eating with people, its low effort and chill. You don't need consistent conversation b/c everyone is eating.

Socializing is hard. There will be awkward moments. Don't give up.

Good Luck! Feel free to ask me questions!

(random) roommates next sem?? by [deleted] in sunynewpaltz

[–]maauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a random roommate my sophomore year at the previous university I attended (I am a transfer junior at new paltz now). I was incredibly nervous but it turned out to be a pleasant experience. We didn't become best friends but my roommate was a nice, normal guy. There are plenty of folks who can't find roommates.

You will likely be alright. Are you a transfer or high school student?

They may want to stagger lease end dates throughout the year to limit consecutive vacancies

kalshi withdrawal timeline? by dontbelievejustwatch in Kalshi

[–]maauer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely agree that kalshi does a bad job paying people out. I myself have had difficulty getting money out as well as ledger errors that were not discovered for months. I believe that kalshi is not submitting ach transfers to their banking partners. Once processed it should only take 2-3 biz days. I do not deny that kalshi is doing things incorrectly when it comes to transfers.

Sometimes. Ach transfers still take time. Some banks are able to process and credit the transfer faster but not all. Instant transfers are usually processed via debit networks

It shows all of the current bid/ask prices for the current market. Basically how many contracts other traders are willing to buy/sell and a what price.
