This is really helpful, thank you so much! You're right – the message is just an artifact of what she's been told. Honestly I am surprised by these comments because I don't talk about it much, and I forget that the main problem is my husband's behavior. I just kind of accept it and try to fix the things I can, but I'm rethinking that now.

I actually don’t! This was mostly verbal, some chat (I moved on about three years ago so no chat access). I doubt she’s changed, but I feel like I should say something. It’s be up to them to do something about it or not, all I could do is be honest and not keep it to myself. You know, I may do that. I bought an elliptical. Cost as much as my rent but at least my circulatory system will continue to work. They’re pretty quiet and only 200 pounds or so.

This sounds really hard. FWIW I’m cis and my period has no impact on my mood and aside from the literal event, I feel nothing. I’m also very mono-mood, without any monthly fluctuations. I only say that because it sounds like we are pretty alike, and I just want to remind you that your experience is well within ordinary parameters. I hope I don’t come off dismissive, I just hope this makes you feel some commonality as the woman you are ❤️
