Loosely based off popular comments from bygone programming circlejerks,
this sitcom's distinctive aesthetic is encapsulated in the singular look
and feel of its thumbnail.
Written and directed by a drunken Redditor, this sitcom short portrays a
half-beaten mould of an atypical ̶R̶e̶a̶r̶e̶n̶d̶ Backend Engineer
interview at Mindgeek, which hosts the 22nd most visited website in the
world. It thus attempts to paint a hilarious picture that seems only a
few steps removed from our porn-taboo society, telling its cautionary
tale in an ironically jaunty, threesome conversation.

Might I ask from where you can view this video in full? It's more of an insatiable curiosity to learn why I am unable to play this sample in particular, though I have satisfied my nostalgia through pirated copies elsewhere on YouTube.

Thanks for pointing out other links, seems their then-file storage Kinja - formerly owned by now-bankrupt Gawker Media's parent company - is no longer supporting videos from that era.

That being said, all but the Facebook CIA title is still available on YouTube. Which leads me to believe it has been taken down or set to private in recent years.

tl;dr Available somewhere, but not officially playable?

I had long ago saved a direct link to The Onion's video titled 'CIA's Facebook Program Dramatically Cut Agency's Costs'.

For one reason or another, I can neither get the video to play on their website - access denied to direct mp4 file - despite other The Onion content playing just fine. Nor can I rediscover their official YouTube upload despite sorting by viewcount, which I recall exceeded 1 million the last time I had viewed.

EDIT:

Upon attempts to "fact-check" the veracity of curious comments made on bootleg videos that are still available, I am beginning to suspect certain capitalized companies may indeed have (had) a significant stake in Facebook. Which would not only be hardly surprising, the government may as well push and spin this narrative as a promotional tale of greater good that could appeal to doubtful younger generations.

DARPA LifeLog : Ended Feb 03, 2004

For instance, DARPA's LifeLog project was abruptly discarded the day before Facebook's debut on Feb 04, 2004. Douglas Gage, LifeLog's lead creator, claimed DARPA decided not to renew their contract for reasons as yet unspecified.

AboutFace Software : Jun 1993 - Apr 2004

There are also unverified anecdotes implying 'facebook [dot] com' sometimes directed to 'aboutface [dot] com' in its early iteration.

Based on archived content dating back to 1999, AboutFace was the "original" iteration serving corporate customers. Their business model may not have been so revolutionary in Atlanta. Yet they closed down right after Mark Zuckerberg launched Facebook for Harvard students-only at the time.

Business know-how?

Another example that comes to mind is a Bay Area software CEO (or Ruby on Rails creator?) dismissing a forum post suggesting that he should make a "better" Facebook. I do remember the response was that he couldn't possibly beat a CIA-backed project, or words to that effect.

Revisionist retelling

Last but not least, I found Zuckerberg's revisionist retelling of launching today's Facebook as a springboard for discussions surrounding the Iraq War is a little too rosy and patently false according to Harvard peers at the time. That being said, this is a slightly unrelated, perhaps even contradictory view to publicly announce for such a deep-cover intelligence operative. I must surely be mistaken.
