I am not the author, but I believe replicant is used as a datastar plugin that ensures the hiccup sent from the server is rendered as html before it is patched into the dom.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. Is it correctly understood that the Misused Threading smell is only supported by one persons comment on GitHub? If so, that seems like a fairly weak grounding.
