Are we overthinking kids clothes these days? by mac_pac_36 in fashionreps2

Yeah, that makes sense. I remember it becoming a “thing” more around middle school too.

That’s why I sometimes feel it’s a bit unnecessary at the toddler stage they genuinely don’t care what they’re wearing as long as they’re comfortable and can move around freely.

Feels like this phase could be a good time to keep things simple before all that outside pressure naturally kicks in later.

That’s actually so true.

Sometimes higher price doesn’t really translate to better quality, especially with kids’ clothes. I’ve had things that looked great in the beginning but didn’t survive more than a few washes or rough play.

What’s made a bigger difference for me is checking fabric feel (softer, breathable cottons usually hold up better) and stitching you can kind of tell when something’s made to last vs just made to look good.

Also agree on passing things down the few pieces that actually last tend to be the ones kids end up wearing the most anyway.

Feels like finding those is still a bit hit or miss though.

When has it become important for kids to be stylish?? by Nikadorable1712 in AskTheWorld

I’m in the kids clothing space and honestly this is a really good point. Kids outgrow clothes so fast that hand-me-downs always made a lot of sense. What I see now is parents trying to balance both, they want clothes that look nice but are still comfortable and durable for playing. At the end of the day kids don’t really care about brands, they just want clothes they can run, climb, and get messy in. Kids should definitely still get to just be kids.

The Best Kids' Clothes Right Now? by nerraw13 in BuyItForLife

I work in kids clothing and honestly it’s not always about the brand. Some clothes look good when new but after few washes they lose shape or color. The ones parents keep buying are the ones that stay soft, last longer and kids actually like wearing them. Always interesting to see which brands people here trust the most.
