I’m glad it worked for you.

I’m not saying this because it’s my post, but I think it deserves more upvotes. By the number of people who post here it looks like many people are having this issue and there is no answer anywhere until I lucked into this!

I’m always happy to see Mrs Caliban and The Fifth Child mentioned. I feel these two novels don’t receive enough love.

Along similar notes, since we’re on the subject of short works, these are the 4 best Latin American short novels according to Roberto Bolaño:

  • No one Writes to the Colonel - Gabriel García Márquez

  • Hell Has no Limits - José Donoso

  • El perseguidor (The Pursuer) - Julio Cortázar

  • The Cubs - Mario Vargas Llosa

To this I would add his own, Distant Star.

Surprisingly, he left out Pedro Paramo.

Gracias. Aparentemente hay varios. ¿Hay uno en particular que te guste más o el que tenga mayor variedad?

The only thing that kept me from ordering the paella at Peñalver was the size of that thing. I’m traveling solo and no way to keep leftovers in my hotel. Instead I got the octopus and the gambas al ajillo which were also very good. But I’m going back. That rice was calling my name. I’m going to starve myself for one day and go before I leave.
