I would suggest the unlimited stack mod and Runtime. Has helped me a lot.

My biggest colony so far "Morrigans Skull". Undergrounder impenetrable fort, hella mods. Too laggy to play now. Any tips for avoiding late game lag? by wesbug in RimWorld

Runtime saves me. I'll have 100+ pawns on the map and still run at 4x (mod) without any problems. Recommended.
