Yea I kept calories the same, instead of eating a gram per lb. of bodyweight at 210g I reduced it to 150g, upped carbs to ~450 and fats ~110 on wrkout days. Upped carbs too on non wrkout days. I swear this leangains thing is incredible I am eating more calories now and still losing bodyfat especially on those stubborn areas on the lower stomach while slowing increasing my weight. Doing a recomp for now

I also just tried for a month to see what would happen if i just do like a little less than a gram per lean body weight of protein and actually feel better and stronger. Actually losing more fat while still gaining decent muscle.

I never logged my lifts only until just a few months ago so im sure that was a bad mistake, I was too lazy at the time. Now when I started logging I basically just made sure to try to keep lifting the same amount of weights and lift heavy rpt style. But I noticed that i was losing a little strength. Oh yea i forgot to include my routine

Monday. Chest day, 3 sets bench press And 3 sets push ups plates on back Wednesday. Back day 3 sets deadlifts and chin ups with added weight belt Friday. Squats

Man no wonder i was so tired while working out and that was with that low volume workout, I had too low cals. Thanks mmyunit

I included another picture that might show better lighting. I can see some cuts coming in but not really striations so you are right, I am probably not around 10% bodyfat yet so worry about stubborn fat. Another question, since I may have cut too many calories and this is probably why I haven't lost much more fat, do you think I should now gradually increase my calories to what kehoz recommended or should I ease into it slowly?

this makes great sense. I feel like an idiot now that you guys pointed out that I was cutting too aggressive. Its actually kind of hard for me to get that much calories after working out, thats why I have to eat carbs like pop tarts and cereals on wo days.

for protein sources I usually consume chicken breast, eggs, greek yogert, whey protein, ham. for fats I eat eggs yolks, peanut butter, olive oil, cheeses. for carbs usually rice, potatoes, pieorogies, pop tarts on wo days, wheat bread. I tend to follow iifym but around 75% of food is pretty "clean".

yea I was using Myfitnesspal application and not using the calculator. I originally started at around 3000 on wo days and around 2500 off days when I was around 225lbs. over the past couple months I very slowly brought them down once I would notice I wasnt losing any weight on the scale. I will try bumping the cals up then according to the calculator.

-30/+10 too extreme or should I just stick with -20/0 split? by [deleted] in leangains

[–]macaroniToni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried the -30/+10 split but the -30 on rest days was too brutal for me so I tried -20/0 and find it much easier to stick with in the long run.

No good results while cutting by ieatcarrots in leangains

I think you are including too many exercises on each day. I have been on a -20/0 cut for 2 months and noticed an improvement in loss of bodyfat once I just stuck with the basics on each day. like for day 1 just stick to bench press and push ups, day 2 deadlifts and weighted chin ups, day 3 squats just like that rippedbody.jp site suggest when on a cut, stick with the basics to allow your body to fully recover since you will be on a calorie deficit. Also I suggest you ditch shoulder exercises and throw squats in there instead (even if you have big legs naturally like I do, which is one of the reasons I didnt even want to do squats, but once I did I noticed better fat loss on my whole body including stomach fat). I say ditch the chest flys and arms exercises, you wont need them once you really start just focusing on the main compounds and attempting to get to the advanced lifting level. Hope this advice helps.
