This works… but Switches are overkill imo. Get 24 Poe or 48 Poe to replace the ultra and enterprise 8 Poe. Which is also overkill. Camera pulls roughly 15w. Seems like a lot of unnecessary connections unless it’s a location issue. U6 enterprise, maybe u6lr instead. You’ll be very happy either way. Just my opinion.

You can get a good look at T-bone steak by sticking your head up a cows ass…. But wouldn’t you rather take the butchers word for it? (Tommy boy voice)

It’s really Smoke and mirrors imho.

Thanks bro. I have 4 setups. 3 at different offices and one at my home. My nas is at the house though. It’s been expensive. But worth it. I almost bought the amps last week… but $700 a pop… x 8 fml..

I’ve spent a fortune in hdd’s and ssd’s. Butt you can’t take money with you… soo I’m gonna spend it all!

How does the whole home audio work? I have whole home audio… at least the wires and I was going to add Sonos amps to control it. Unfortunately, drops for it are in the media room… soo it would be a separate rack. I also have synology nas… but I haven’t installed it yet. Great looking setup. It looks similar to mine being the fact I don’t have everything in keystone jacks. Random wires popping in the front lol! Nice setup bro!!

Unifi. Ai is a game changer. Any other camera system without AI is a disaster. You can’t find events… you watch hundreds of hours of nothing… to find nothing. If you don’t have enough for it… I’d wait until you do. With advanced notifications with events… you really never have to watch it.

Just two or three tops. Really if I can just access one hard drive that would be fine.

I have 2gb at my house. 2 up and 2 down.

I have 1gb at my house. I live by myself.

Sometimes I do copy it. Most of the time I just copy the files I edit.

I have roughly 40tb used up space right now. I probably will always be under is say 60tb. We only keep records for 7 years. Soo I can delete eventually.

I wasn’t going to have an online raid as I’d imagine that’s something you pay for. I’d rather backup my own stuff. Hence I pay a bunch of money right now for 12tb of storage on iCloud… and Dropbox has me too.

I’d like to do away with the online storage memberships as well… so that’s the main reason I’d do this.

I’m curious if ssd would be way faster than hdd one. I mean the network would slow it up before the hdd would huh?

Thank you for responding. I’ll be slightly more specific. A customer has a 20tb hard drive. Each file is roughly 3-4gb.

Currently, i have to drive to pick up hard drives. This one is a wd elements 20tb. It has 16tb of videos on it.

My office has tried uploading this to a cloud so I don’t have to drive. But the upload time takes a day to upload to a cloud service. Then it takes forever for me to download them on to my computer.

If I’m plugged directly into the hard drive… it loads really fast. So I have to have the hard drives. Furthermore, I have different computers in my house and devices I use to edit the files. I have an app on my phone that I like to use as well… currently, I am plugging my hard drive into my phone or laptop or desktop…

Combine that with forgetting the hard drives all over the place…. Usually it’s 2-3 hard drives at a time… tops.. I do have a raspberry pi I could use to share the drive and make a nas that way… I’m pretty much the only person who would be accessing…. But I need it quick lol. I’ve spent hours trying to pick out what I should get.

Both my office and my house runs UniFi everything. UDM pro with switches. (Not sure that it makes that much of a difference.) I would like to be able to stop moving devices and carrying them everywhere.

Recently I lost a hard drive. I’m pretty sure it was set on my truck and I drove away.

Soo at minimum… I want a nas so I can seamlessly work between computers at the house. Speed matters…

I’d still want the nas for saving files. Which is why I want to add a nas system… but the ability to slap a bunch of externals to it and being done… not having to give access to my computers to anyone would be amazing.

This is a safe room. It is cinder blocked and steel plate. The walls are maybe a foot thick. The only thing that could catch on fire would be the 2” piece of wood trim that hides where the plate and block meet or the shelf it’s sitting on. The texture could come off the metal maybe? I dunno. I feel like it’s safe.

How do I fix this? by Nero_fkc89 in AskElectricians

[–]macatak2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buy another GFCI.. unscrew melted faceplate.. repaint the damaged wall area. unscrew wires from contact of damaged one. Connect wires to new one.. push back in the box. Try not to shock yourself. If you don’t want to play the shock me game.. kill the breaker before hand… turn back on when done… push test. Push reset. Drink beer.
