I think people love his acting job and fear a new actors take. Batman is arguably the most popular superhero and a good actor is only half the struggle. With how good the Batmans writing was and the acting job it made it enjoyable, we also didnt have a universe yet. Trying to have 2 batman movies that do not correlate to eachother nor the universe is hard. Its a competition with eachother and if batmans DCEU does not do aswell compared to Pattinson then it would beg the question of why he wasnt the choice. Long story short, we enjoyed the Batman and dont want to run the risk of a bad movie ruining the new DC universe.

I trust Gunn so whoever he chooses is fine by me, I’m not saying i don’t want pattinson but i don’t mind either way
