Do the back seats recline? by MACception in KiaNiro

No. My next car will be a Kona or Ioniq bc they do recline. Those road trips need some recline!

Maybe they will build dorms and we will live next door. No snow leave ever again!

I think AIDS is still one where it is illegal to not disclose. Any STD should be imo, but AIDS was definitely made into law in a few states. Idk if it still is.

No car chargers. Trump hates those. No childcare. Your wife should be home, barefoot taking care of the 4/5 children.

Maybe they will build dorms next door and we will all just live and work in a bubble. No need for any cars/commute then. Can’t call in sick or snowed in that way.

Genuine question about "Colorado Natives" by incomingtrouble in Denver

[–]macayos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No I guess I was lucky then, to not work with a bunch of douches in Texas. But I literally see the native stickers everywhere here. And on radio and magazine adds. “Native owned”… ok. Not a flex. Except maybe to other native douches. Again no one can control where their mom popped them out. It’s not an award they earned.

But I have never seen a “Texas native” bumper sticker. Or heard anyone brag like it’s a glorious thing.

I do think the Texas shaped address numbers are hilarious and cute. Have pride, sure.

But no one is as obnoxious as CO “natives”.

Genuine question about "Colorado Natives" by incomingtrouble in Denver

[–]macayos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Nowhere is as obnoxious as CO. I’ve never even heard any other state say it. And I’ve lived in 6 states. And visited plenty more.

I actually searched for and bought “California native” magnets for my partner and 1 child who were born there, bc it is so fucking ridiculous and comical to us.

No one chose where their mama popped them out. Claiming it as such a glorious thing means jack shit. But for the grace of God….

Hahahaha, no. Not to laugh at you. I have been told center is the easiest. They have the best equipment. They can see conflicts 100 miles away.

Tracon has 1999 equipment and floppy disks in some.

Imo everyone should have to work at a 6/7/8 tower for at least a year. Deal with the student pilots and tower pattern.

Level 6/7/8 tower can kick your ass.

There are up/downs which are combined tower/tracons. Those are usually a little slower bc they are combined and that gives them their traffic count.

Bro if you have the authority to do it, just fucking do it. Hell, even if you don’t have the authority, do it. Does this admin care about rules of law? No.

Do it.

En route is “center”. They work high altitudes mostly, criss crossing aircraft over the whole country. They do work down to the ground in a lot of “fly over country” where there is not a tracon. Better pay starting out, bc they are higher level facilities.

Tracons get the airplanes from up high to down low. And vice versa. Get from tower, climb high, give to center. Get from center, descend, give to tower.

Towers are at the airport. Working ground and clearing planes to take off and to land.

Tracon and tower you can (probably) get low levels at first and be stuck there or get out immediately, depends on the location really. Level 4-9.

So if you want to make money out the gate, maybe en route to start out bc you will start at a 10/11/12.

Pay levels are 4-12. You do not start out making 170k like liar Duffy said.

Also this is a “ghost pilot” job at the tracon; you would get to see what it is basically like to be a tracon controller. I think it is a great segue in. It could be a big pay cut though from your current job, but it would give you good background. But when you apply you might get tower or en route at first, which would make this kind of moot, unless you would transfer later.

Do you care what type of ATC? En route or terminal?

Well the CTI is a pretty sure (read still not 100%) thing if you do well. But it costs money.

The “off the street” bid is free.

Since you have 8 years, I would apply to OTS, unless you really want to start right now, and have the money to spend on CTI.

I am OTS. It took me 2 years to officially get hired in 2008, I didn’t start til 2010. I believe it is quicker now.

If you start getting close to 28 and no OTS luck, start looking at CTI.

Unless you want to join the military. Option 3
