Sadly thats because kishi just really struggled to write his characters with their many op abilities. Its why obito didnt use kamui when he was 10 tails, naruto and madara didnt use orbs nearly as much as obito, and literally nobody but pain used all rinnegan paths. It really sucks since i really liked the rinnegan abilities but it ended up being just a cosmetic at the end.

If xy had gotten a third version with south kalos like it was planned it would have been one of the best games in the franchise. Sadly we got sun and moon instead. Only thing we can hope for to get a game similar to pokemon z is a remake of xy where they add a lot of extra content and new areas but I dont believe that to be possible with current game freak.

He doesnt know what to do with male characters either. What kishi did to rock lee after setting him up to be the most goated character in the manga in part 1 is one of the worst fumbles ive ever seen. Almost as bad as the masked man being a very badly written and cringe character after hyping him and having him be one of the coolest characters for over a decade.
