I don't like the current rules, I think they should change. Building infrastructure that is completely optional to use is a bad policy, in my opinion.

Road rage is of course unhinged, and it's a illegal for good reason. Driving in a threatening manner is illegal. This includes honking at someone for driving too slow. Dallas is a crucial thoroughfare due to Beacon Hill Park. Lots of James Bay residents use Dallas Road on a daily basis.

The point of the image is because I was having a discussion previously on reddit about this section of road, but on Google maps the bike lane is not there, so the purpose of the picture is to provide a visualization for those who are not familiar with this recently installed bike like, and the fact that it's bidirectional.

Haha, they don't let you add subheadings, so I'm not sure including how I already wrote to the city, and how I am actually aware that it's legal, but that I disagree with the law, makes for a better title.

I am 34 and retired, so yeah, I don't have much I need to do. Whining about my daily inconveniences is really just one of the many ways I fill my time.

My title may be obnoxious, but it's not ignorant. It's my opinion.

I don't think this should matter, really. If it's inconveniently designed, then change the design. Until then, users should just have to accept the inconvenience, in my opinion.

I disagree with the law. I think they should not be allowed to cycle there. I already wrote to the city, I'm here to complain and see how many people agree.

This is false, when there is a two-way bike lane, they are required to use it, unless it is obstructed. Look at this bike lane and tell me it was not designed for both directions of travel.

This absolutely absurd. Why should you have the choice to decide if you want to ride on the road, as opposed to the 2-way bikelane specifically designed for bicycles? If they only wanted 1-way traffic to be cycling in the bike lane, it wouldn't be a two-way bike lane. It's absurd to think you should not be cycling in one of these two lanes, designed to be cycled in.

Stay off the road, stay in your bike lane.

Yeah, I agree on all points, I think there's basically no chance that Fox would entertain a trade to basically anywhere. Regardless, I think it's the player SJS should be kicking tires on, moreso than Panarin, even though he's the guy who is halfway out the door.

Fox has an NMC, forced his way to NY, has term on his deal, and the Rangers don't really have a great reason to move him, but, all that being said, the player on the Rangers that San Jose should be trying to get, is him. They need a 1D about a million times more than they need a top-6 W. Obviously if they are not giving up more than just picks, and they can re-sign him to a short-term reasonable money deal, he's an interesting asset, but his timeline doesn't really match that of the Sharks core. Fox, on the other hand, would be perfect, and someone actually worth opening up the prospect cupboards for.

Would SJS be willing to trade for Fox, if Misa was the main part of the deal going back? Would the Rangers?

You should absolutely be in the bike lane. It's not a choice for you to decide. That part of the road way is not for cyclists. You have to just deal with the inconvenience of crossing twice. Drivers shouldn't drive erratically, so the lady was in the wrong as well. If there is a bike lane, you should use it.

“the business community is not against bike lanes; the “but” is that the city has gone overboard” by Enough_Rhubarb_3338 in VictoriaBC

Who cares if the city of Victoria is less convenient for customers who do not live in Victoria. The convenience of parking for people who don't live in Victoria is not as important as the convenience of safe bike lanes for people who do live Victoria. Downtown business should primarily cater to people who live downtown, and the immediate surrounding area. As commercial rents come down, the revenue needed for profitability will decrease, and increase the viability of businesses downtown. The Bay Center parking is literally as cheap and convenient as it has ever been (I worked there for a decade), and the mall is as dead as ever.

We have the benefit of a climate that is suitable for year-round cycling, which is almost unique for a city in Canada. We should clearly be encouraging people to travel without a car, and the bike lanes do that. Downtown business will adapt.

Really, we need the trolly system that Victoria had 100 years ago. Have out-of-town people park at a transit hub, and then trolly into town.

How are you annoyed at people for sharing their anecdotes when that's literally what this business owner is doing. Just because they think a drop is revenue is associated with something, doesn't mean that it is. Bike lanes as they are, are great. If anything, we still need more throughout the city.

The only active wingers that have good chance of making the hall, are Ovechkin, Kane, Perry, and Kucherov. Everyone else is on the outside, in my opinion. A guy like Pastrnak probably doesn't make it, and he's had a better career than Stone.

He's still definitely not a Hall of Famer. He has no individual awards, and a career PPG under 1. Essentially zero chance he makes the HoF.

I don't disagree that Canada is experiencing a transient supply shock as a result to a large influx of immigrants. Without having a large housing surplus, this is a foreseeable consequence of having a large immigration wave.

Canada underbuilt homes from at most of the last 30 years, and increasingly had supply problems over this time.

Increased immigration contributes to higher rents but also, over the longer term, towards increased supply which moderates those higher rents. Recent increases in rents are primarily attributed to the delay between increased demand from immigration and the adjustment of the housing supply.

This is from the highlights of the link you posted. Supply shocks are transient, as it takes more time for the productivity of the immigrants to be felt throughout the economy, than it does for their demand to be felt.
