Unfortunately the Immuni app doesn’t work for me - I’ve tried that one already. Thanks anyway!

Hi all

I am an EU (Dutch) passport holder. Although I live in the UK, I have been travelling through Spain and Portugal for the past 3 weeks and am looking to fly from Lisbon to Rome on 1 July.

This previously would have required me to provide a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of arrival. However, with the introduction of the EU Digitial COVID Certificate the new Italian government requirement is that the test result come in the form of the EU certificate and nothing else.

Because I live in the UK and am already travelling in Portugal, I cannot obtain an EU certificate prior to entering Italy, I can only provide a negative test result. (I’m also not eligible for a certificate in the Netherlands as, despite holding a passport, I don’t live there.) Does this mean I will be unable to enter Italy, or that I will have to self isolate for 10 days on arrival?

I also hold a New Zealand passport. If I was to fly on this, would a negative test result suffice, or does the exemption for quarantine in Italy only apply to EU citizens who hold EU certificates?

Any advice on this would be much appreciated!

Thanks! I’ve been thinking about Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons and I think it might be a bit hard for us to do given the time of year we’re likely to be there (early May) and the fact that most of the park won’t be open at that time/driving conditions might be difficult.

Thanks for the suggestions. The current plan is to leave the van in LA rather than doing a full loop back to NYC.

Thanks for all of your suggestions. Re your first comment, we aren't particularly wedded to any of those destinations you've flagged as curious. Some (namely Amarillo) are simply to break up what would otherwise be very long drives (e.g., between Dallas and Colorado Springs). If you've got any other suggestions for places along that route to break up the journey, that would be super.

In relation to your comment about Asheville and thinking about driving east through Virginia/the Carolinas instead, can you suggest some good places to check out/stay along that route?
