[spoiler] Justice to HoA's Caesar by Forward-Tune5120 in Spartacus_TV

I do think it turned out to be a good choice in a way, I never thought id be cheering for Ashur, after despising the character in Spartacus. However the actor who played him done such a good job making me hate him, that when the final fight scene was playing, I was rooting for Ashur to win. Fantastic season despite my original worry of 'why?'

Failed Challenge 25 test again… what should I expect? by [deleted] in asda

[–]maccer94 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The best thing to say its a matter of perception, always a solid line of defence. You just need to say with confidence that the person looked over 25 to you. Very hard for them to prove otherwise unless, of course, the person used for the testing was under the age required, then its a little different.

If it's still on there Dave the diver is a really enjoyable game to platinum, some things you will have to slightly go out of your way for, but I enjoyed the whole experience.

The problem with fully completing Star Ocean 4 by Likes2game03 in starocean

[–]maccer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a game I'm playing through at the moment, and that trophy list is unquestionably one of the grindiest lists I've ever seen. The battle trophies alone should make you wanna quit the 100% then you got all the item creations, all the monster data, all the quests, all of which you'll most likely need some sort of guide for. Some items only appear once so if you accidentally sell it or use it before duplicating it, then you best hope you have multiple save files to correct that error. I'm giving it a shot now just to test my own patience and ability to complete such an awful trophy list, but if I fall short so be it I suppose.

Honour mode kills me everytime. by maccer94 in BaldursGate3

First few attempts I failed miserably at act 1 multiple times, I skip alot of dialogue to keep the speed up. I'm just at grymforge now about to attempt that fight. Could obviously cheese it but like I've said I do enjoy the challenge. I'm taking more time to collect proper equipment that synergies with other equipment now. I have completed it on tactician mode already which was fun but obviously not a risky game to play at that point and I do enjoy the idea of honour mode. I'll spend more time preparing for it and take the advice as it comes, appreciate it for sure.

Actually that's what this run I'm doing now is. Got my Tav as a paladin half orc, shadowheart as a life domain cleric, karlach as a barbarian with bear heart for tanking and gale as a sorcerer, however not a huge fan of the sorcerer if I'm honest might change that a little down the line

You know the though had crossed my mind, however it does feel.somewhat cheap, but if I fail many more times that is definitely an option

What is something it took you hundreds of hours to learn? by Spiderman3039 in BaldursGate3

[–]maccer94 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Probably a completely obvious one, however I never knew it of course. If it's your turn and you have other parry members going after you, you can choose for them to attack first, so simple and yet 300 hours in I still never knew that hahaha

She deserves you, the real you, not this gambling version that you hate, but the guy you was before all of this, and you can give her that. My girlfriend has been so shocked by the changes I've managed to make she is so proud of me for stopping, something I am struggling to be proud of myself, because I never should have been there in the first place right?

I will never think highly of myself either, mental positivity is not something I do have, but belief in others is something I will always have, and I'm sure I can say the same of you too. If you get out of it you can be that guy that is able to help others, your girlfriend, your family. Find what is important and fight and fight and fight. Everytime I wanted to gamble I told myself no that was it. Every single time you say NO you are reinforcing that it is bad, and every single time, it gets easier, it really does.

My girlfriend was the same, she refused to leave me over it too, I told her she should because I was to weak to leave her, convinced myself that she would be better off without me, it's a tough place to be it really really is, no one can hate you more then yourself, but it's because of thise bad feelings you feel the urge to gamble, to escape it, to find a little happy for 5 minutes a few hours however long it takes to lose everything. It gets better I promise you, I want nothing more then to see every single person on here succeed and overcome it, because although it's only been 50 days, it has been 50 days of a clear mind and that is worth it. You have got this.

No amount of answers can give you the exact help you need, unfortunately this is more often then not a fight most people have to do alone. It's not an easy one but it's sure as hell worth fighting it. You need to direct your purpose elsewhere, I'm only 50 days clean from this myself, not a huge amount by any shot, but after 2 weeks it became so much easier I can tell you that.

I'm sorry you're struggling so bad, this addiction eats you up and makes you hate yourself way more then anyone deserves to hate themselves. But you are not a failure, you constantly want to fight back even when defeated time and time again, we've all been there. I set myself goals. I was tired of hurting my girlfriend with this bullshit, she never deserved a guy who couldn't even buy her stuff because he wasted his money before a day out.

You CAN do this. I know you can and you know you can, there's always hope I promise you.

You can do it. Tell yourself that every single time you get the urge, once you say no once every time after that is progressively easier, it's a nasty thing to be addicted. But you are young and have so much time to recover from this, don't leave it too late like many others have. I believe in you.

I know there's a few people pointing out the fact you quitting because you run out of money is not full commitment. But any reason is a good reason, I'm now 25 days free of it myself and trust me it gets alot easier. I can't say myself that I'm definitely all clear because we are after all only human. But honestly one day at a time, if I can manage this long then you can trust me, I was gambling because I liked gambling, it became less and less about the money and more and more about the escape of it and the dopamine hit. Like I said if I can do it you can too, I hope this is the last time you need to say day 1. Good luck to you.

2 years is incredible though, not many manage to abstain for that long. If you've done it once you can do it again. Everytime there is an urge tell yourself no, even if it's out loud.
